What happens when a top hairstylist teams up with a well-known celeb AND a non-profit organization that protects endangered animal species?
Something pretty darn amazing. Check it out:
Okay, so in case you didn't feel like watching the video—celebrity hair guru David Babaii (whose client roster includes SJP, Nicole Kidman and Angelina Jolie) recently launched David Babaii for WildAid, a collection of shampoos, conditioners and styling products that are free of parabens, petrochemicals, sulfates and animal products.
Or perhaps you've heard of them already? His pal (and client) Kate Hudson lent her endorsement too, making the products even more covetable. And they're for a good cause, with 10 percent of profits donated to WildAid for wildlife conservation initiatives.
But really, there's another reason I'm smitten. As far as I'm concerned, anyone that can make hair products smell authentically beachy—so far, I detect the aromas of coconut cream pie and what I imagine to be a fancy umbrella drink containing Blue Curaçao—is a genius.
Oh, and the products don't suck either (in case you were wondering when I'd get to that). I've been testing the Hydrating Shampoo and Conditioner (even though my fine hair doesn't really require hydration), the Volcanic Ash Root Amplifier (which I definitely need) and the Bohemian Beach Spray (which is supposed to give your hair sexy waves... and let's face it, just sounds very cool). And you know what? I love them all. My hair doesn't feel weighed-down, it's got a little lift (thanks to the volumizer) and—dare I say it—I think I might have spotted an actual wave. Wow.
