I’m no beauty snob, but sometimes drugstore makeup can be hit and miss. (Example: most mass brands’ mineral foundations. They just don’t provide the same coverage as higher-end lines like bareMinerals.)
That said, the drugstore is often home to undiscovered gems like two products I recently stumbled upon from Maybelline New York:
The Mineral Power Concealer could almost double for Guerlain’s Touche de Teint. Yes, I’m quite serious! Both are creamy and perfect for covering up dark shadows at the inner corner of the eyes and redness around the nose and mouth. I tried Sand (there are five other shades) and just a little dab went a long way. Colour me impressed!
Although Define-A-Line Eyeliner isn’t waterproof, I can almost forgive that because just like Benefit’s new Automatic Eyeliner Pencils, it has an impressive ultra-fine precision tip. Available in six shades; I like Ebony Black best for creating a thicker-lash look. (The fine tip is fantastic for getting between individual lashes along the upper lash line.)
