If you’ve ever tried mattifying skincare products, you know they can be hit and miss. And the misses? Well, they can be downright ugly. I’m talking about the chalky white residue that sets up shop on your T-zone in place of the usual shininess. (Uh, I’d rather just take the oil, thanks.) Anyway, I’m happy to attest that Kiehl’s new Rare Earth Collection does none of this nonsense: it just plain works. (I was actually treated to a facial using these products a few weeks ago, and I was devoid of shine from mid-afternoon up until bedtime. Not bad!) Here’s what the collection includes:

Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Daily Cleanser ($29.50 for 150 mL) |

Mid-afternoon until bedtime? Sounds better than not bad — that’s hours! Wait — what time was bedtime?
Well, to be fair, I went straight from the facial to my air-conditioned apartment, so there was no real opportunity to get sweaty. But still – normally I’d have shine, and this seemed to lap it up.
Love the masque so far, have to try the others. Did you see the contest they’re doing to promote the Rare Earth launch? http://picswall.kiehls.com – you can win the entire collection.
Hi Jennifer! That contest is such a cute idea. Wish it was open to Canadian residents…
