Post image for Out now: Guerlain “Beauté Slave” Fall Makeup Collection

Asking a beauty editor to choose her favourite makeup brand is like asking a mother to pick her favourite child: impossible. But if I could only use one brand of makeup for the rest of my life, Guerlain would definitely be among the top five contenders.

This fall’s collection is called “Beauté Slave”—that’s French for Slavic Beauty. And it’s gorge. Natalia Vodianova is the face, and I’m loving this whole Russian doll look: the rosy cheeks, the undone hair, the floral tapestries. Makes me want to ditch my minimalist black and welcome fall with a floor-sweeping gypsy dress.

Here’s the full scoop. (Hint: if you can only pick one thing from this collection, make it the pretty Russian Doll cream blush or the KissKiss Baby tinted lip balm. The eyeshadows are just too pretty for me to bear messing up with a makeup brush…)

guerlain_volga princess Guerlain Volga Princess Eyes and Lips Palette $75
guerlain_ombre eclat in tsarina Guerlain Ombre Éclat 4 Shades Eyeshadow in Tsarina $62
guerlain_russian doll Guerlain Russian Doll Radiant Blush (Limited Edition) $45
guerlain_kisskissbaby Guerlain KissKiss Baby Lipstick (Tinted Lip Balm) in Cristal Nude, Red Nude, Honey Nude, Rosewood Nude, Romantic Nude and Rosy Nude $35 each
guerlain_rouge g Guerlain Rouge G de Guerlain Jewel Lipstick Compact in Giovanna and Graziella $48 each
guerlain_le2 Guerlain Le 2 de Guerlain Mascara in Nuit 2 Bohème (Intense Plum) $37
guerlain_retractable eye pencil Guerlain Retractable Eye Pencil in Gold, Silver, and Bohemian $30 each

At Guerlain Boutiques, Holt Renfrew, Ogilvy, The Bay, Sears, Shoppers Drug Mart and Sephora stores across Canada.

Oh gosh – my top five? Let’s see: definitely Guerlain and YSL…and I guess I can’t forget Dior and Chanel either. But I’m also loving some of the new organic makeup i.e. Josie Maran and Tarte (now that it’s been reformulated). I also really like Hauschka makeup – so pure and such high quality.
Then it gets into category-specific stuff eg. Lancome for mascaras, NARS blush… etc etc. I could go on and on so I’ll stop now. So hard to narrow it down!
