What’s that you say? You don’t want to channel Heather Graham, like EVER?
Okay, let me explain. You see, I was sent this lip gloss (L’Oréal Paris Infallible Never Fail Plumping Lipgloss, to be exact) and it immediately reminded me of her. It’s bright red and super glossy, and all I could think of was this picture (circa her Boogie Nights era), where she does the over-the-top, wide-eyed doll-face look SO VERY WELL.
It’s not for everyone, but I kind of love it. Because you can go on for weeks and weeks with your plain Jane neutral lip and beige eyeshadow and subtle blush, and it’s all so very BORING after a while. Then along comes Heather, all big eyes and lips and hair, and it’s FUN. (Pair all that with a red bustier dress, however, and you might get a tad more attention than you were looking for.)
Maybe I also like this look because I share this quality with Heather where sexy just comes across as doll-like (which is actually fine by me). Some people put on a red lip and it’s like, whoa—too hot to handle! Me? I put it on and look like one of the kids on Toddlers and Tiaras.
So this lip gloss, well, it’s just a suggestion. A $13.95 suggestion. (It plumps your lips for six hours, too!) Because who said beauty has to be so darn serious all the time?

Toddlers & Tiaras? You? True, there’s a sweetness to your pretty that can have a dolly air, but just like Heather, ain’t no one gonna think of that show when they see you. We should try some different looks on you! Serious smokey, or fun with winged liner and these glossy red lips. Then take a poll!
I’m loving red lippies these days!
I wish I could rock a red bustier like Heather. LOL.
Is this gloss sticky at all?
Michelle – I don’t have it with me so can’t remember exact texture, but I think it was normal gloss texture… not overly sticky (I think I’d remember, because I hate that). The main thing is it’s really pigmented for a gloss. You could actually blot it for a toned down look and still get lots of colour.
Okay, you HAVE to delete the first comment I made! I didn’t mean to do a repeat; tried to take the apostrophe-s of “Heather’s” and somehow just posted again. Doh!
Hey, I DID figure out how to change my gravatar! Neat! I emailed you instructions on how to create one. Kind of.
Deleted! (You’re such a grammar nerd!)
And yes I definitely need to try some new looks… just like fashion editors always wear black, beauty editors hardly ever wear much makeup. Must practice what I preach!
