The beauty world was shocked—SHOCKED, I tell you!—when parent company Estée Lauder announced on Thursday that they’re shuttering Prescriptives. Across the beauty blogosphere (and Twitterverse) you could almost hear a collective gasp. Apparently the brand was under-performing, which is no surprise in these recessionary times: most of us are trading off all but our most essential prestige products for their mass-market equivalents.
SO. If you use anything in the line, it’s time to go shopping! Distribution ends January 31st, but I’d bet most die-hard fans are stockpiling their favourites NOW. Some to consider: the cult Flight Cream, Super Line Preventor Xtreme, and my personal favourite, Calyx. Fragrances always have memories attached to them. I’ll really miss it.
UPDATE: Calyx lives on! The fragrance will continue to be distributed through Aramis Designer Fragrances. Thanks, EL!
