As you know, I’ve been harping on all month long about the beauty of a bold lip with an otherwise bare face. (Well, not bare bare—with my splotchy skin, that would be frightening—but as bare as you could reasonably leave the house with.) Here’s another example of it at Giambattista Valli.
While pinks seem to be the more popular choice for a bold lip next spring, that’s not to say you couldn’t do it in a saturated orangey-red like this. The problem, however (as I mentioned here), is that orange-toned lipstick can make teeth look yellow. So before you do this, step it up with the teeth-whitening. Crest, by the way, happens to make an excellent product called Whitestrips Advanced Seal, which you wear once a day for 30 minutes and grips to your teeth so well that you can even drink water at the same time. God, I just love technology.
Of course, my job here wouldn’t be complete without suggesting a product that’ll get you this look. And that, dear readers, is from NARS: the Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Red Square.
