Chanel Paris Fashion Week Spring 2010, Dree Hemingway at Chanel, Chanel makeup spring 2010, Guerlain Terracotta Fard Indien Mineral Eyeshadow, M.A.C Lipstick in Twig, Dr. Hauschka blush

Everyone has been a bit breathless this week singing the praises of Chanel’s spring 2010 show, which took place in a giant replica of a barn. A haute hoedown, if you will. Yes, Karl’s still got it!

As a lover of rosy, flushed cheeks, I’m pretty darn happy with the makeup too. Doesn’t Dree Hemingway—Ernest was her great-grandpa, but of course—look gorgeously healthy here, like she just got back from apple-picking or horse-riding or some other fall-ish outdoor activity?

Of course, I know this makeup is for spring, not fall. It’s just that the brown palette is usually reserved for the cooler months. But as I noticed at the Pucci show, we’re witnessing a trend, folks: brown—all ’90s-style—is BACK.

guerlain_terracottafardindieneyeshadowA few suggestions: Guerlain’s Terracotta Fard Indien Mineral Eyeshadow, a product which I *thought* was limited-edition, but looks to be still available at Sephora. This is, in a word, AMAZING. Eyeshadow on a stick! What could be better? If you can’t find it, keep an eye out for the collection next March; hopefully it’ll include this again.

mac_twiglipstickFor the blush, the Dr. Hauschka product I mentioned here would work well. And for the lips, well what better product than the quintessential ’90s lip: M.A.C Lipstick in Twig?

forever21_ostrichclipAs for the hair—the models wore messy updos with various ornaments, even shafts of wheat—I think it’d be simply gorgeous for holiday parties. (Well, maybe not the wheat part…) The best sources I’ve found for inexpensive, sorta 1920s hairbands and clips are Claire’s and Forever21, which is where I found the ostrich number at right.

UPDATE: I Heart Beauty alerted me to the gorgeous lilac/grey nails. I wouldn’t be surprised if this shade is already wait-listed:

Thanks for the mention! I love that you’re posting a ton on runway beauty. I’m all over the hair and makeup at Chanel.
