Got a Halloween party this week? Just quietly… in one of my procrastination-induced web-surfing stints the other day, I came across a series of Halloween looks, all modelled by the Tarte Cosmetics team. And now I’m convinced—at least half the costume comes down to wearing the right (read: dramatic) makeup.
Above, we have Tarte’s gorgeous CEO-turned-Flapper Girl Maureen Kelly, who—just as an aside—has the most fascinating story of how she built her brand from nothing but a great idea and thousands in credit card debt. (I watched a documentary about her in the summer, which I must track down online one of these days for you guys to check out.)
But back to Halloween—hopefully these pics will get the creative juices flowing! Check out the links below to watch Tarte’s awesome how-to videos on how to recreate them (you can see the Flapper how-to video here). Or, just head on over to Tarte’s Halloween page now!

I like the flapper but I really wish the “sexy cat” and “dirty devil” costumes that girls keep wearing every year (in the quest to look hot) would just go very far away!
Oh I know – so over the Slutoween thing!
A quote from one of my best friends – “I don’t really understand the whole sexy animal thing, sexy rabbit, sexy cat… I hope these girls realize that animals have fur that covers their ENTIRE bodies”
Love it!
well i agree with the fact that some girls take things to a whole other level by making themselves more into sex objects then into their preferred halloween character. However i am being a black cat for the halloween party i am attending and im not sexing it up…. im wearing black tights a black t-shirt and simple cat makeup…… not every girl dressing as a cat or any other animal looks like a skank!
Yay! That costume sounds really cute!
