Here’s a problem that’s right up there with excessive sweating and weird body hair in a category I call Beauty Problems Nobody Wants to Talk About: hair loss.
Did you know that 62 percent of the population suffers from it? At least, that’s what Kérastase tells me. And of course, they’ve just introduced a product line, Spécifique Densitive, to combat it, no matter what the cause. (And speaking of causes, hair loss can be triggered by everything from hormonal imbalances to stress, fatigue, pollution and even seasonal changes.)
How this line works is by stimulating circulation and calming irritation on the scalp, as well as adding texture to individual strands to give the illusion of volume. It includes two shampoos: Bain Prévention, for strengthening normal hair to prevent and protect against hair loss, and Bain Prévention GL, which calms, nourishes and gives thinning hair more texture. There’s also Soin Densitive GL, a texturizing spray that also soothes the scalp.
Bain Prévention, by the way, might already be familiar to you, as it’s been part of the Kérastase range for a while—and now it’s got its very own category. I had a gander at reviews over on Makeup Alley and was so impressed, I might just try this myself on my volume-challenged locks. (My ND tells me it’s normal to lose about 100 strands of hair each day, but who wants to shed hair if they don’t have to?)
