The Book of Eli is set to launch in Canada this weekend, and at the premiere party in Hollywood on Monday night were Mila Kunis (who has a lead role) and Rosario Dawson.
I was simultaneously impressed and disappointed when I saw these pics. Impressed, because I can’t remember the last time I saw Ms. Mila on the red carpet—and looking so fab, I might add. How stellar is this eye makeup? There’s some serious artistry there in terms of the lining-the-waterline trick (plus some false lashes, I suspect), both of which makes eyes pop without the heaviness of a dark, smokey shadow.
Rosario, on the other hand, underwhelms here. Gorgeous as she is, this is weekend hair and makeup—it’s pretty, but wouldn’t it be nice to see a brighter lipstick, more emphasis on the eyes or a more voluminous hair style? I’m not snarking—more often than not, I don’t practice what I preach—but you can clearly see the contrast between Mila’s look (polished) and Rosario’s (blah).
The bottom line: when cameras are around, always, ALWAYS make an effort.
Do you agree?

Love Mila, always so gorgeous! You are right, Rosario is a beautiful woman too but this is the wrong kind of effortless.
