I think it's safe to say that most of us would kill to look like January Jones. (Did you SEE her on the cover of GQ last year? Hubba hubba.) But I just don't think her look last night did her justice.
Mainly it's the hairband. It's so in your face, all shiny and black and weirdly positioned right at the hairline. Aren't we sort of over hairbands now anyway—and the whole uber-groomed, 1950s neatness ushered in by the likes of Gossip Girl's Blair Waldorf character? As mentioned in my post last week about Marion Cotillard, hair is moving in the direction of unkemptness (tighter curls and yes, frizz), so this just doesn't feel like it's quite on trend.
Otherwise, I do like the matte skin, minimal blush, false lashes and raspberry-red lips.
