Golden Globes ’10: Diane Kruger

Here’s another example (along with Jennifer Garner—sorry to keep snarking on you, Jen) of a hairstyle that ages you. Diane Kruger usually gets it right, but last night things went very, very wrong. It’s another half-mullet, with the upper part of her locks held back with a jewelled barette and the underneath part curled in what looks like ringlets.

Diane gets a pass because, after all, she used to be a model—so it’s hard to make her look BAD. (And of course I get that you need to harmonize your hair with your dress, so one might be tempted to try the Old Hollywood Hair.)

I just think it rarely works outside the pages of a magazine. Check out her fantastic (and younger, fresher) mid-length waves at the People’s Choice Awards and then come back here and tell me if I’m wrong.
