UPDATE: For anyone reading this who is struggling with acne, please head over to my post about the best skincare product EVAH—it’s amazing for clearing up blemishes (and more of a long-term solution than the Zeno).
Last month, we heard about Katy Perry, Avril Lavigne and Jenna Fischer repping the acne line ProActiv. Today, Zeno announced that The City star Whitney Port will star in a US$15 million ad campaign to promote Hot Spot, their thermal blemish-clearing device. AS IF that girl’s got acne. Just sayin’…
The Zeno gadget, however, is pretty clever. What it does is heat up when you hold it on a pimple (you need to hold it there for 2.5 minutes) in order to destroy the acne-causing bacteria. They claim that if you do two to three treatments over 24 hours at the first sign of a pimple, 90 percent of blemishes will disappear or fade in one day! (It’s also available in a cold sore version.) The other cool thing about Hot Spot—which is different from the version I was sent a few years back when the company first launched—is that it’s able to read the temperature of your skin in order to emit just the right amount of heat. Neat!
As usual, no word yet on whether this will be available in Canada. But in the meantime, tell me what you think of Zeno—if you’ve used it. I always forget to use mine. Does it work for you?

The problem with those devices is that they are only effective on very, very limited pimples. The people who actually have acne or blemish problems often can’t use this product because it doesn’t work with their type of skin or blemishes. It is very specific to the type of acne you have.
I tried it in vain a couple of years ago with no real results, no matter what kind of zit I used it on.
I just want others to be aware and do their research before paying so much for it!
Thanks Ginger! Good to know.
A many thanks to you Ginger. Thanks for the information you’ve shared, this really helps to those who plans to be in Zeno. I also have a little bit of plan to try Zeno but after reading your post, I have doubts. I still have to search more.
I’ll try using Puraskin Acne Treatment, I’ve read some reviews that it’s effective on clearing acne.
Hey Jamie – and Ginger too, if you’re subscribed to this post – pls head over to this post for a really great acne solution I’ve discovered.

I absolutely swear by it, and we have some really great testimonials in the comments thread.
