Joe Fresh Nail Polish

Joe Fresh is doing for nail polish what it did for clothes: namely, making it available at a price you’d swear they were losing money on.

Each polish in their new collection, which launched last month, is just $4—or you can get three for $10. Crazy!

There are 27 shades: 18 permanent ones (made up of pinks and reds, above) and the rest to change seasonally. Here are the spring colours:

I tried Coral, which is the one in the centre of the top row in the first pic. LOVE the colour—it needs two coats but then it really pops. Really pretty for summer on your fingers or toes.

What I don’t love, however, is the brush. Sorry Joe, but it’s not great (it’s a bit too wide and makes it too easy for the polish to deposit over your cuticles). This is the problem with so many polishes, and it happens at all price points—even Rescue Beauty Lounge’s polishes have a brush that bothers me. (OPI, in my opinion, is still the Queen of Quality Brushes.) However, if you’re fairly dexterous, you might be okay with it—just spend a bit of extra time with the application and clean it up afterward with a cotton bud dipped in nail polish remover.

Still, we’re talking about a $4 nail polish here, folks. Also, even though these are bargain basement prices, they’ve still been formulated without formaldehyde, toluene, DBP or camphor.

Available now at select Loblaws stores across Canada.

Love the price point and so many pretty colours to choose from! That coral shade looks so pretty. I do agree – OPI does have the best brush. Other ones are either too wide or too thin. Will have to check out the rest of the line!

Re. brushes: I must say, I don’t care for Chanel’s brushes either. I find them too thin and they don’t distribute the polish effectively enough. I’m keen to try to the Joe polish in lavender, though. Looks pretty!

I just bought three of these yesterday including the coral one! I am looking forward to testing it out this weekend.

I picked up some of the polishes in the 3 for $10 deal and LOVE the one I tried so far! The colours are fun and I hope the other two are as great as the first one :)

Just a quick update for you guys: the Coral has chipped pretty quickly – BUT I’ve been getting lots of compliments on the colour.

I just picked three up this past weekend (the mint green, coral, and light blue). So far I’ve tried out the green and blue. The colours are really cute and stand out but I had the same issues. Started chipping almost immediately and had trouble with the brush. The bottles are a cute shape, but the top makes for a rather unwieldy brush. Then again, for the price you can’t really be too picky.

And since we’re weighing in on brushes, my favourite so far is the Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure (followed by OPI). It’s wide so it’s easy to get good coverage without streaks.

Alex you might want to try the Aldo polishes – I’ll be posting about them this week as I’ve just finished testing them, and they are amazing! GREAT brushes and the price is only $6.

I’ve heard good things about the Sally Hansen ones too—@thechicstorm (who commented above) says they last a really long time without chipping as well.

I also found that this polish chipped like crazy.
