It can be easy to pass Lise Watier by when you're at the drugstore. I'll be the first to say that the Quebecois beauty brand doesn't always have the best packaging with their compacts, and I'm not convinced So You Think You Can Dance Canada's Leah Miller is the best choice of spokesperson. (Girl isn't even 30 yet but looks like she's had far too much plastic surgery. Not quite the message you want aligned with your brand, in my opinion.)
And yet, despite all this, they put out some phenomenally innovative products, time and time again.
The Lip Kiss Crayon Gloss ($18, lisewatier.ca) deserves some kind of beauty prize, I'm thinking. It's a chubby pencil (which I always prefer over the spindly ones) and is simultaneously a lip pencil, lipstick, lip gloss and lip balm. There's quite a bit of pigment, but not enough to make this hard to wear. (That's one reason I rarely use my NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils—they're just too opaque to be a grab-and-go type of product.)
This, however, is a dream to apply. Also, in keeping with my anti-lip gloss stance these days, the shine is tempered by the balmy texture—so your lips have just a slight sheen.
Last thing: Lise Watier also make amazing waterproof eyeliners (the only kind you should be using, in my opinion). Check them out too!
