Lise Watier Lip Kiss Crayon Gloss is like four products in one

Lise Watier Lip Kiss Crayon Gloss

It can be easy to pass Lise Watier by when you’re at the drugstore. I’ll be the first to say that the Quebecois beauty brand doesn’t always have the best packaging with their compacts, and I’m not convinced So You Think You Can Dance Canada‘s Leah Miller is the best choice of spokesperson. (Girl isn’t even 30 yet but looks like she’s had far too much plastic surgery. Not quite the message you want aligned with your brand, in my opinion.)

And yet, despite all this, they put out some phenomenally innovative products, time and time again.

The Lip Kiss Crayon Gloss ($18, deserves some kind of beauty prize, I’m thinking. It’s a chubby pencil (which I always prefer over the spindly ones) and is simultaneously a lip pencil, lipstick, lip gloss and lip balm. There’s quite a bit of pigment, but not enough to make this hard to wear. (That’s one reason I rarely use my NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils—they’re just too opaque to be a grab-and-go type of product.)

This, however, is a dream to apply. Also, in keeping with my anti-lip gloss stance these days, the shine is tempered by the balmy texture—so your lips have just a slight sheen.

Last thing: Lise Watier also make amazing waterproof eyeliners (the only kind you should be using, in my opinion). Check them out too!

I’m going to look for mine NOW! And I agree about LW waterproof liners — they’re amazing! I did a happy dance when I found a dark brown in my stash, and I’ve been using a coppery brown for months. Love.

I just tried mine too and I have to agree, it’s a goodie! I love multifunctional products. It’s like a lipstick, lipbalm and lip pencil in one. I have it in Bronze Romance and it’s the perfect nude shade.

Thanks Lesa!

Louise – I don’t have my sample in front of me so can’t remember if this is a twist-top or if you have to sharpen it yourself. But if the latter – you can buy sharpeners that are specifically made for chubby pencils like this one. I think Quo makes one (at Shoppers Drug Mart).

Gloss pencils are my new go-to summer lip product – I’m so happy so many companies have come out with them this year and the Lise Watier coral one is one of my faves!

Best, Lisamarie

Am salivating just reading about this pencil! And I was also looking for an eyeliner recommendation. Must. Get. Hands. On. NOW.

Karen – Lise Watier makes good eyeliners but I have to say – I am IN LOVE with YSL’s new ones and have been meaning to do a post on them. Until I do here’s a link – they’ve been updated with a new long-lasting formula that I think is as good as waterproof:
I’ve tried the black, grey and Purple Silk and can’t live without them now!

Does this 1/8″ of lip gloss cost $18???
I thought it twisted to advance. Do you sharpen it? The black plastic
part is only about 1/4″. Tell me please.
