Maybe it’s just me, but the idea of airbrushing on my makeup every morning sounds just a tad high maintenance—at least compared with quickly swiping on your primer, foundation, concealer, bronzer, blush… OH WAIT.
Scratch that thought. Because after I used the TEMPTU Airbrush Makeup System (now available in Canada!), I realized that:
a) it took me less time to, as they say, “do my face”
b) I got better—more even, flawless and long-lasting—coverage
and c) Gosh darn it, I had FUN doing it.
Yep. I can think of worse ways to spend 10 minutes (or less) than fooling around with this little gadget. But why don’t you check it out for yourself…
Here’s the video:
And here’s a closer look at the system, which is $265:
And this is what the little pods look like with the actual makeup. (I got the pricing wrong in the video—the foundations are $65 for TWO pods; blushes are $36 each and highlighters are $42 each.)
Watch the vid to see how it all works (and the end result on my mug!).
Just a few caveats: This isn’t for you if a) if you hate silicones (it’s chock-full of ‘em),
b) your skin requires a lot of coverage
or c) you’ve got really oily skin (the built-in primer is supposed to diffuse wrinkles AND shine but I didn’t find it held up all that great on the latter).
But otherwise? A seriously fun beauty gadget. (And trust me, I was pretty cynical about it before I tried it.)
So I know $265+ is a lot to spend, but…
Do the benefits of airbrushing (even coverage, saves time, fun application!) kind of impress you?
Ever tried it yourself? (What are you, a celebrity? I know THEY use this stuff all the time to get perf skin for the red carpet. For reals.)

I think my husband would think I was insane if I used this every morning. LOL. But it does look like fun!
Haha, EXACTLY! It’s pretty over the top…
I think I would prefer to spend a couple hundred more for a regular make-up artist airbrush machine then this.
I personally just feel that for my money I would be much more happy if I was able to use different brands of make up, custom blend colors, use it for more then just foundation/blush/bronzer/highlighter ( for instance; eyeshadow, eyebrows, body make up, tans and what have you) y’know?
but that could just be me…even if I didn’t use it for those other things very often, I would like to know it can do them still haha!
but I’m sure for lots of people this would be just fine
( note: I’m certainly not frowning at it or anything, just sayin’.
I hope I didn’t come across as some sort of elitist airbrush make-up jerk or anything! haha)
No, not elitist at all. That makes sense… I know TEMPTU does sell a pro version of this system; not sure how much $$$ it is.
I know what you mean about airbrushing other things… I suppose you *could* use some of these colours as a faux tan, body makeup or eyeshadow. You just wouldn’t have the range of eyeshadow colours as these are all neutrals. (But then again, I’m not sure how well I’d ever be able to airbrush on a bright eyeshadow anyway… or eyebrows for that matter… probably a regular brush is still best for those areas!)
oh awesome, I’ll def. have to go check out the pro ones!
it’s a good point though! if you really wanted to you could use it for those things in a basic way, which is probably exactly what it was intended for haha
I think you have to rock a stencil for brows/bright shadows, but I gotta say I would totally go for airbrushing my eyebrows! just because I have the worlds most annoying eyebrows, I think they may have been cursed by a gypsy at some point, but who knows….haha
Ahhh now I understand – I didn’t realize you were talking about stencils, but now it makes sense. I’ve had bad experiences with stencils though… one time, a new brow bar had a media event and insisted on demonstrating their stencils on me. I walked away looking like Jack Nicholson with these crazy, black, super-arched eyebrows. I looked insane. Headed straight to the bathroom to scrub off.
So yeah… no stencils for me anymore!
