How-to: DSquared² S/S ’12 hair

DSquared² - Spring 2012 hair

The look:

Rock summer festival.

The inspiration:

“I took my inspiration from a vision of a rebellious young woman having the summer of a lifetime, full of carefree adventure. The DSquared² woman is someone full of fun and not too precious, so I wanted her hair to look naturally gorgeous but with a laid-back festival feel to it. It’s the typical Kate Moss at Glastonbury look—effortlessly cool, with that ‘lived-in’ texture that just gets better each day.”—Pantene Pro-V global ambassador Sam McKnight.

The how-to:

1. Start by washing and conditioning hair with Pantene Pro-V Medium-Thick Dry to Moisturized Shampoo and Conditioner for extra nourishment that helps to seal cuticles and repair damage from root to tip. Then towel dry and work Pantene Pro-V Medium-Thick Flowing Body Mousse through the damp hair before blow-drying roughly, using your fingers to create texture.

2. If your hair is very straight, take 1-2 inch sections and use medium-barrelled curling tongs to create loose waves. Spray each section with a light mist of Pantene Pro-V Classic Care Style Touchable Hairspray to give a little extra hold, and work through the hair quite randomly, winding it around the barrel in different directions and holding for just a couple of seconds before using your fingers to break up the waves. This will help to create a non-uniform, natural-looking texture and give the hair that tousled festival quality.

3. Next, take a drop or two of Pantene Pro-V Medium-Thick Hair Style Straighten & Smooth Creme on your fingertips and work through the ends of the hair to give separation and to calm fly-aways.

4. Finish with a blast of Pantene Pro-V Classic Care Style Touchable Hairspray all over for lightweight flexible hold that will give your natural waves some staying power. And if you want to give the look an extra fun festival twist like Sam did for the catwalk show, try adding a single bright neon hair extension for a flash of crazy colour.
