Tracy Reese Fall 2012 hair back How to: The messy, bedhead ponytail at Tracy Reese F/W 12

The inspiration:

“The hair is inspired by the mood of the collection—an accessible look that reflects a natural street style.”—Tracy Reese

The how-to:

1.    Start by applying TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Root Boost Spray and TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Foaming Mousse (use TRESemmé Flawless Curls Spray Gel for curly hair) throug out the hair and power-dry with fingers for texture.

2.    Back comb roots from below the crown to the top of the head for texture, and then lightly spray with TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Finishing Spray.

3.    Take random sections and create a reverse curl with a 1 ¼” barrel curling iron, leaving ends straight. Spray lightly with TRESemmé Fresh Start Volumizing Dry Shampoo for a matte finish.

4.    Take a teardrop section from the part down to the nape and fasten at the nape into a low ponytail.

5.    Loosely take the remaining hair, twist both sides back and fasten with hairpins into a ponytail.  Wrap the base of the ponytail with hair.

6.    Leave a few loose strands to frame the face, tucking hair loosely behind the ears for a casual finish.

Absolutely love this! Of course, now my hair is way too short, but I’m pinning it nonetheless. So effortlessly pretty!
