The look:
Windblown, bronzed skin. “The look is dusty and windblown; bronzed, but not in too glam of a way. The skin is contoured with a strong lip.”—James Kaliardos for NARS.
The inspiration:
“We were inspired by Australia for this collection. We wanted to reference Aboriginals, the outback and the Dust Bowl, along with a Victorian reference, and bring them together in a rugged way.”—Rodarte designers Kate and Laura Mulleavy.

Yikes. The bronzer application is scary enough, but then with the eyeshadow it looks like she has pinkeye.
