How-to: The scarlet “shadow” at Donna Karan F/W ’12

The look:

The how-to:


1. Hydrate and rejuvenate the skin with MAC Complete Comfort Crème.

2. Lightly blend MAC Studio Finish SPF 15 Concealer into the skin with MAC Foundation Brush No. 190 to perfect the skin.

3. Create a contour through the low planes of the face using MAC Pro Sculpting Cream in Pure Sculpture (available fall/winter 2012) with the MAC Large Angled Contour Brush No. 168.

4. Pat MAC Cream Colour Base in Pearl over the cheekbones to highlight.


1. Mix MAC Lipsticks in Diva and Party Line together and then blend through the crease with MAC Small Angle Brush No. 266.

2. Blend MAC Eye Brows in Fling and Lingering through the brows to create fullness.


1. Pat MAC Cream Colour Base in Pearl over the lips for a soft highlight.

This reminds me of the 90s – I used to use this lip pigment from l’oreal that was almost fuschia around my eyes. It gave me a proper geisha look. If it leans towards purple, most people could pull it off for a night in town!
