Erin Fetherston - Spring 2013 nails

The look:

Eye-catching metallics. (By Katie Hughes for Butter London.)

The inspiration:

This season, the designer’s signature feminine style had a bit of an edge. The collection consisted of flirty, feminine silhouettes with zippers, studs and texture. The models weren’t wearing bracelets because Erin wanted the nails to be the accessory for the hands. The metallic nails mimicked the look of jewellery and were the ultimate eye-catching accessory.

The how-to:

1. File the nails into a rounded, feminine shape.

2. Apply a base coat.

3. Paint the nails with either a silver metallic (such as Butter London 3-Free Nail Lacquer in Lillibet’s Jubilee) or a gold metallic (such as Butter London 3-Free Nail Lacquer in The Full Monty).

4. Let dry, and then seal with a top coat.

The makeup, for me, is the real show-stopper here!
