Recently, you guys got the chance to do something that I—as a lover of both beauty products and words—have always wanted to do. You got to come up with the shade names for makeup!
Specifically, these three Lip Paints from Pari Beauty, a new, all-Canadian line of prestige-quality colour cosmetics:
What's a Lip Paint? A triple threat, basically! It's highly pigmented, full-coverage colour in a liquid form—so you get the intensity of a lipstick with the ease of a gloss. It's shiny, too, but there's no stickiness; in fact, the moisturizing formula feels more like a balm. No wonder I've had at least one shade from this trio in my handbag at all times lately.
And now they've got names! Yep, after combing through all the great submissions from BEAUTY EDITOR readers, the folks at Pari Beauty have made their selects. "At Pari Beauty, we believe strongly in fun and expression through beauty," says Shawn Jolly, Director of Operations for Pari Beauty. "We wanted to choose names for the Lip Paints that would be fun, engaging and representative of the personality of each shade."

Doll Me Up
Submitted by Sarah from Mississauga, Ont.
"The perfect name for a pink with attitude!" says Shawn. "This shade is all about getting dolled up." I couldn't agree more—this vibrant fuchsia is my favourite of the three shades. (And as the name reflects, it's girly, but with an edge.) Also, do you know how hard it is to find a good hot pink? I love that this one is high-impact but still super-flattering.

"A vibrant red that is not for the faint of heart—now with a name to match!" says Shawn. Word. This name's so darn cute, I wish I thought of it myself! Also, even though it's a bold red, it's a very wearable one. The colour is a classic cherry that will flatter most complexions, and with the lightweight, glossy texture, it's got a prettier finish (and feel) compared to regular red lipstick.

"A perfect tongue-in-cheek name for the ever popular nude lip," says Shawn. Clever, right? Everyone needs a good neutral in their lip wardrobe, and you can't go wrong with this one. Unlike many nudes, which can be too light and chalky-looking (ugh!), this is a soft, muted pink that's close to the natural colour of your lips (only better).
In the coming weeks, you'll be able to find these brand new shades on counter at Pari Beauty locations across Canada, so check 'em out! (They're $14 each, and here's where to find the store closest to you.)
