Jennifer Lawrence went totally against type with her makeup at the Golden Globes, going for a vampy, deep red lip instead of her usual pastel palette. In the close-up, I wasn't into it AT ALL, but it kinda sorta makes more sense when you pan back and see it with her white strapless Dior dress.
Sort of? I think it's a little better in context. Let's zoom in for the close-up and then find out how it was done—I just wouldn't wear this eye with this lip, is all.
Makeup artist Ve Neill started by perfecting her complexion with Dior Diorskin Nude BB Creme in Fair:
To mattify, Jen got a mist of Dior Airflash Matte Touch Long-Lasting Airy Powder. I'm undecided about this product. It really does create an incredible, perfected matte finish, but I find the spray format a little too hard to control—usually I like to be matte only in some places, not all over my face. However, it makes a lot of sense for a red carpet when you can't be shiny in photos.
Ve applied Dior Diorblush Vibrant Colour Powder Blush in My Rose to the cheeks. This is Dior's newest range of blushes and they.are.amazing. Really pigmented in the compacts, but they go on nice and sheer so you don't risk looking like a clown. They give a gorgeous, natural-looking flush; one of my new favourites.
To create the silvery smoky eye, she used Dior 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow in Gris-Gris:
The delicate line in Jennifer's waterlines is from Dior Crayon Kohl Eyeliner in Black.
And then one of my top mascara picks, Dior Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara in Over Black on the lashes.
Finally, the lips (which I know some of you were wondering about). Jen is wearing Dior Rouge Dior Couture Colour Voluptuous Care Lipstick in Prune Daisy.
