Q: What do you suggest for really oily skin? I put my makeup on at 8 in the morning and at 12, I'm already blotting. Is there a makeup you recommend? — Treasura
A: Treasura, I suffer from the same affliction, and it’s no fun looking in the mirror at lunchtime and realizing you look like greasy take-out.
There are a couple ways you can approach this. Maybe try them out and see what works best for you?
One option is you can start by using an oil-control moisturizer and primer. I recommend Murad Oil-Control Mattifier SPF 15, a mattifying moisturizer:
With both of these as a base, it should help combat shine, and help your foundation to stay put.
You may also want to use an oil-free foundation, such as Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer.
Additionally, if you find you need it, you can set your face with a translucent powder . My absolute favourite is Too Faced Primed & Poreless Powder.
If that doesn’t work for you, you may want to try a dry powder foundation. I like matte mineral ones myself, such as bareMinerals Original Foundation SPF 15:
Or the MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation if you are wanting coverage as well.
Lastly, it’s always handy to have some blotting papers in your purse, so when you start to get shiny, you can just blot it away! My go-to ones are from Clean & Clear.
Let me know if these tips work for you!
