I think we can unanimously agree that Jennifer Lawrence’s makeup, at least, was better than her hair on Oscars night. Save for the black lining her eyes, it was very fresh, minimal and pretty. (Maybe you’d wear this with a stronger brow, or prefer it on someone with a different eye shape.) But let’s not blame the products. They were Dior, after all!
Here’s the close-up, and then we’ll talk about how makeup artist Ve Neill got the look.
To prepare Jennifer’s skin for the makeup, Ve used Dior Diorskin Pore Minimizer, a mattifying primer.
Next, she chose Dior Capture Totale Foundation in Light Beige 020—which is for light complexions with neutral undertones. This is a high-def foundation that creates a luminous quality for the skin.
To add a touch of colour, Ve used Dior Diorskin Nude Tan Matte Sun Powder in Matte Amber 002.
I really like Jennifer’s barely detectable blush, which is Dior DiorBlush Vibrant Colour Powder Blush in 553 Cocktail Peach. This is Dior’s new blush line and while they look bright in the palettes, they go on super-subtle.
Ve drew the graphic lines around Jennifer’s eyes with Dior Diorshow Art Pen in Black 095. Normally, we tend to only draw liquid liner on the upper lash line as a cat eye, but I think it’s really interesting to think about using it all the way around.
The mascara is Diorshow Iconic Overcurl Mascara. I used this today, in fact! It has a great amount of “grip” to it—so you can build up a nice amount of product near the roots of the lashes (to help eyes pop) before dragging it through the lengths.
Jennifer is wearing the new Dior Addict Fluid Stick in Mirage, which won’t be available until May. Can’t wait for that launch! More details coming soon.
Here’s how J-Law’s look all came together:
