Now you don't have to choose between saving the planet and a convenient way to clean your face.
Kaia Naturals Juicy Bamboo Face Wipes

Ever felt a tiny bit guilty about using a face wipe, and then just tossing it in the garbage? It's not exactly the most environmentally-conscious beauty habit. But then again, neither is having to constantly launder your facecloths (since bacteria-laden soiled ones shouldn't be re-used). What's an eco-chick to do?

Suggestion: try the Juicy Bamboo Facial Cleansing Cloths from Kaia Naturals. Yes, they're 99 percent natural, but what I find even more compelling is that they're 100 percent biodegradable. They're made from unbleached bamboo—the ultimate renewable resource because the bamboo plant is one of the fastest-growing on Earth, and requires no fertilization or pesticides.

Bamboo fibres are also super-soft and often compared to the feel of cashmere. Where the "juicy" comes in is that the cloths are soaked in eight plant-based essential oils, honey, sunflower oil and vitamins B12, C and E. (I could do without the sunflower oil, but that may or may not bother you.) These are also alcohol-, paraben-, sulfate- and synthetic fragrance-free, although they do smell amazing from the essential oils.

So how well do they work? Pretty well. I won't actually show you, however, because that would be gross. (I can't believe a quick Internet search turns up loads of people actually posting photographs of their dirty face wipes. Ew... nobody wants to see that business!) I've been using these cloths after a few rounds of heavy makeup testing, and found they did a decent job of getting off all the foundation, lipstick, blush and eyeshadow. BUT I did need a second wipe just for the eye area, i.e. mascara and eyeliner. So definitely count on that if you wear a lot of makeup.

Which brings me to the size. Part of the problem is that they're only 4" x 6", the size of a standard photograph:

Most cleansing wipes are double that. But then again, most or at least many cleansing wipes leave your skin coated with this weird synthetic oily feel—and the Juicy Bamboo cloths, despite being soaked in a blend of oils, don't do that at all. They definitely leave my skin feeling the cleanest and freshest out of any wipe I've used, and that's HUGE.

Have you tried these? Would love to hear what you think!
