Debby Ryan took some major hair and makeup risks for Sunday night's Teen Choice Awards, opting for not only pale pink hair but also a knotty, pompadour updo, extreme lashes and a cute lil' nose ring. Not for everyone, but I thought it was super-fun! Now I've got some more details on exactly how to recreate her look with a bunch of highly-covetable prodz.
"We could have done anything in the beauty department considering Debby was wearing black and white," her makeup artist, Andre Sarmiento, told Teen Vogue. "But in the end, we decided to create a makeup look that had vintage elements with modern textures."
Here's the outfit choice:
Well, not the most exciting—but it's basically a blank canvas for hair and makeup play. Which is great for us!

And here's exactly what's on it, thanks to her makeup artist.
Andre started by mixing Epicuren Aloe Vera Calming Gel:
Then he applied a light layer of MAC Face and Body Foundation.
Through the T-zone, he dusted Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder.
To soften shadows under the eyes, Andre applied Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage.
Then he sculpted the cheeks with Tarte Amazonian Clay Matte Waterproof Bronzer.
He next added Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush in Pink Explosion to soften the contour.
And finally, Kevyn Aucoin The Creamy Glow Duo in Candlelight on the cheekbones to highlight.
To prevent smearing underneath the eyes, he used a waterproof Maybelline mascara on the bottom lashes.
To define the crease of the lids, Andre applied Maybelline EyeStudio Color Tattoo 24Hr Eyeshadow in Tough as Taupe.
Then, he used Kevyn Aucoin The Precision Liquid Liner in Black to created a winged black line along the top lash line only.
For a mod look, Andre painted Debby's lips with NARS Lip Gloss in Turkish Delight, a pink sherbet colour.
A dab of clear gloss, NARS Lip Gloss in Triple X on top, completed the look.
Another peek at Debby's sculptural updo:
On damp hair, stylist Bobby Eliot sprayed Oribe Foundation Mist all over.
He added Oribe Volumista at the roots before rough-drying Debby's hair it, focusing on creating volume.
Once the hair was dry, Bobby used a flat iron to straighten the ends.
Next, he sectioned off the hair in a horseshoe shape, and sprayed Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray throughout it.
Then he started to create the knots, placing the first one at the nape and securing it with French pins, leaving the ends out. He tied knot on top of knot, repeating the process in sections, pulling all the hair into the updo until just above the ears.
For the final knot at the top, he twisted the hair to create a pompadour shape, and secured it with pins.
He tied any remaining bits of hair into knots, and then misted all over with Oribe Superfine Hair Spray to hold in place.
