There's nothing like kicking off the back-to-school season with a brand new look. And as you might've noticed, we've done just that! Beauty Editor has a new site format, a new logo, a new accent colour (we hope you like red!), new fonts and bigger images. Talk about a before and after, huh?
As the founding editor of this website (and a former magazine beauty editor myself), I've always tried to position Beauty Editor as a trusted friend with a bit of an insider connection. We're all about sharing tips and inspiration here, but we never take beauty too seriously! (Right? It's just makeup. It washes off.)
That mix of an editorial viewpoint with an irreverent approach was something I wanted to come across in the new design—hence the new skinny sans-serif logo, bold uppercase fonts and red spot colour. I hope you agree that the new look better reflects what Beauty Editor is all about.
But it's not just about looking pretty. The new website is now completely mobile-friendly, since more than half of you read Beauty Editor from your phones or tablets. Yay technology!
I want to thank my amazing partners at Say Media: Benish Shah, who spearheaded the project (and held my hand all the way through!); Shanna Gupta Chambers, who trained me on the new content management system; Mira Kim, who came up with the site's beautiful new look; and their team of engineers who made the transition to the new site super-smooth. I am SO grateful for their hard work and expertise.
