They call it "nerd prom". But the celebs who strutted the red carpet at the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner on Saturday night looked anything but geeky. (And no major beauty faux pas this time, either!)

Here are all the night's hair and makeup looks:

Chrissy Teigen

After a brief stint as a brunette, Chrissy is back to blonde—but it's not quite as good a blonde as before. Maybe it's just the lighting, but it seems brassier... harsher. And I'm not sure I love this dark lipstick with it. Of course, being a model, she still looks gorgeous. I still think her Grammys look was the one best ever.

Sophia Bush

Nothing too creative here, but it's still very, very nice. It's nice to see Sophia with her hair scraped back, all the better to show off her fresh, luminous skin. What's cool about this cool is that her pink lipstick matches her earrings, and her eyes (sort of) match her green dress. Notice the absence of any crazy lashes, or harsh liner/shadow.

Naya Rivera

Okay, does Naya look like a relation of the Kardashian family or what? It's the contouring... and there's a really too much of a highlighting happening at the centre of her face. I get why she wanted it, though; she's pregnant right now, so her face is fuller. I do like the sleek hair, and the rest of the makeup is relatively low-key. Brows are too angular, but there's that shadow effect I've been talking about lately.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum

Another sleek hairstyle, this time on Jenna—who should really try this look more often. I love it on her with the matte blue-red mouth; it totally shows off her flawless skin and pretty green eyes. I'd lose the fake lashes and pick an ashier colour for the brow-filling at the tails. And oh, there's a stray makeup brush hair on her cheek.

Gillian Jacobs

Hair's a tad stiff, but I approve of everything that's going on with Gillian's face. First of all, that creamy coral lip colour and blush couldn't be any more perfect with her skin tone. Smudgy definition around the eyes with sparkly lids... and then au naturel brows. A few years ago, we'd say they looked messy, but now I think it's the right decision. Otherwise, they'd get too skinny and the filling would be too obvious (see: Jenna Dewan-Tatum). Now, if only we could brush out the hair a little.

Michelle Trachtenberg

Michelle sure knows how to play up her assets, which would be her flawless skin and those big baby blues. I'm always so fascinated by her eye makeup, and this time is no exception. Purple on the lids, bit of shimmer underneath and jet-black waterlines and lashes. On others, it would be too much, but on her, it works. I just don't like her blonde brows with the dyed black hair.

Adriana Lima

Could it be true that curly hair is making a comeback? Usually, we see Adriana with her hair straight, but these long, natural-looking waves are a great change. Pulled back on the one side, the effect is a bit retro, especially with the ultra-bold matte red lips. I can't get over this woman's eye-hair-skin combo... it's unreal.

Ivanka Trump

Ivanka, Ivanka, Ivanka. We get that you're a socialite, but must you also do the socialite hair? Between the colour and the style, it's a bit much—too blonde, too brassy, too done. I think it ages her a bit. At least the makeup is pretty good, if only she'd ease up on the blush. (What's wrong with having a fat face, I say. People pay good money for that.) I like the tightlining and how her brows match her eye colour.

Connie Britton

Connie is just so damn cool. She looks really effortless here, with the loose low ponytail and beachy texture in her hair. The foundation lets her freckles show through, and all she needs is a bit of soft eye definition and pinky blush and gloss. Don't know about those false lashes, though.

Anne V

This is lovely as well. (Not that it's surprising for another model here to look great.) I love the matchiness of the dress and the red lipstick, further complimented by her green eyes and blonde hair. Brows are soft and skin is sheer... and I think I might be developing a major freckle obsession. (For real. I find myself watching stuff like this lately.)

Irina Shayk

Here's something fun on the eyes—a rose gold colour worn all the way around, close to the lash lines. It's really pretty with Irina's warm skin and I love that her lashes are so defined (with a hint of darkness in the waterlines, but not too much). With brows and features like this, why not show 'em off with a tight-to-the-head updo.

Julie Bowen

Julie has had better beauty looks. It's not her hair that I have a problem with (although some smoothing serum might be handy), it's her makeup. The blush/contour/whatever is too strong, and her eye makeup isn't blended enough. I feel the lower lid liner is aging and drags her face down, and the false lashes are way too obvious.

Ashley Judd

Ashley pretty much disappeared from the red carpet since the white powder incident of 2011, but now she's back and still doing the weird flower-in-the-hair thing that she always does. I'm not sure it quite says "2015", but oh well. She has great hair and skin (she is 47, can you believe?), and she did a good job of not overdoing the makeup.

Chanel Iman

Now here's a face that can handle a bit of contouring. Chanel (another model, natch) looks gorgeously gleaming and just slightly chiseled. This is how it should be done! I find the liner a bit harsh and the lips sorta chalky, but at least she didn't go the false lash route. And the high ponytail is so cute on her.

Maria Menounos

How many times have we seen a variation on this from Maria? I feel like TV people are more prone to falling into beauty ruts than the average person. That said, her skin is getting much better—foundation more sheer and no detectable contouring or fake tan. Now, if only she'd switch up the hairstyle to a side part tucked behind only one ear... and she seriously needs to trade the icky lip gloss for some matte, bright colour.

Alanna Masterson

This is cute, although I don't think the hairstyle is the right choice for the neckline of the dress. But I do love Alanna's big brows, glossy red lip stain and subtle eye makeup. It's just the hair making her overall feel a bit too casual for this event.

Rebecca Gayheart

Rebecca, this is not your Life Colour. She's such a pretty lady being let down by her blonde. It needs to be a few levels darker, like a mid-brown... not frosty like this. While we're at it, let's ditch the heavy false lashes and just go with the (great) assets here: fresh skin, clear glossy full lips and lots of hair volume.

Lucy Liu

Close-up's a bit blurry, but you can still tell Lucy is looking good as per usual. There's nothing too exciting here, just glamorous blown-out hair, a pop of red lipstick and lashes to open up the eyes.

Sophie Turner

Here's another variation on rose gold. For evening, the instinct is usually to do a smoky eye in a dark colour, but you can see on Sophie how pretty it is to take it in this direction, along with a lip in the same family. Notice how there's no heavy eyeliner, just dark lashes. And her skin is enviably luminous.

Hannah Davis

Hannah kind of reminds me of Irina Shayk, with her gorgeous light eyes, full brows and warm skin. (Oh right, she's another model.) With features like this, you don't need to do much, so I think the lashes could go.

Megan Boone

I think hair down would soften her angles a bit more, but otherwise, this is a nice look on Megan. Love her brow fans, her dewy skin and how the black liner accentuates her almond eyes. The lip stain looks a bit worn off, but it happens to the best of us.

Carla Gugino

Carla is a cute lady... but I'm not sure about this extreme green situation. I like the idea of it, just think the execution is a bit off. Should it be all the way around her eyes and extended horizontally? I'm not sure. Maybe just a hint of it would be better. Otherwise, excellent mid-length straight hair with the side bangs (could've been a candidate for this round-up).

Darby Stanchfield

Well, this is... interesting. As if the liberal application of frosty baby blue eyeshadow wasn't enough, Darby's wearing her blue coloured contacts again, AND she's got red eye from the camera. (BTW, I am positive these are contacts because even though all contacts are tinted, they won't be to this extent, that a ring around the pupil shows up in pictures.) You know, without the contacts, and with a more restrained deposit of eyeshadow, I think this actually has potential. The contrast between the blue and her red hair is pretty cool. And she's got nice brows and nice skin. Thoughts?
