Your weekly beauty inspiration.

This week's batch of celebrity hair and makeup is a bit of a model-fest, thanks to the CFDA Fashion Awards (which hosted the likes of Joan Smalls, Emily Ratajkowski and Nina Agdal). But at the Critics' Choice TV Awards and a handful of movie premieres, actresses Emmy Rossum, Elizabeth Banks and Gillian Jacobs provided plenty of regular-girl inspo, too.

These were the best celebrity beauty looks this week:

Emmy Rossum

So cute! I've felt lukewarm about Emmy's makeup many times before, but I think she nailed it this time with the sparkly-smoky eyes, brushed-up brows, peach lips and cheeks, and elegant low bun. (Check out this pic of the back detail from her Insta.) I know she's a big fan of tightlining, and here it actually works without feeling too harsh. I'm friggin' dying over the condition of her skin—how can a 28-year-old still have this porcelain perfection?!

Joan Smalls

Oh my! Joan is the definition of fierce. Her eye makeup is very, very runway (so, being a model, it's no wonder she pulls it off and then some). I love that the colour is a purplish-blue, not a black or a neutral, and that the focus is under, not above the eyes. Her makeup artist, Sir John, called it "denim smoke" and told Style.com that the secret to keeping it modern was that "above the crease and on the brow bone, there’s no shadow—it’s clean." Alas, we don't know the products because Sir John works for L'Oréal (and I'm guessing the makeup here is from a competing brand).

Emily Ratajkowski

Emily's lips can't be real... can they?? That question aside, I love how she styled herself here. Softly tousled, centre-parted hair, untamed brows and natural lashes. The peach blush and lips are super-nice with her colouring. Speaking of lipstick, isn't this way better than the cool pale pinks we've been seeing on so many celebs lately? Team Peach FTW!

Diane Kruger

I don't think we've seen Diane on the red carpet this often in years! It's always great to see her non-Hollywood brand of beauty, this time featuring a simple half-back hairdo and pretty makeup (which I'm sure she DIY'd). I'm not sure I'd have darkened the brows quite so much, but I like the soft eye makeup and the silvery highlights at the inner corners.

Lily Aldridge

Okay, some of you might disagree, but I personally love it when we get the surprise of a bare face on a red carpet. Of course, it helps if you are Lily Aldridge, so there's that. If only the rest of us could get away with what looks like zero foundation, zero lipstick, tone-on-tone blush and barely-there mascara. Just the tiniest sweep of black liquid liner, plus air-dried Boho waves... and that's it. Damn, girl.

Nina Agdal

In comparison to Lily, Nina actually made quite a bit of effort. She's rocking the new angular smoky eye, albeit in her signature neutral brown colour palette, and it's giving her a sexy feline effect. Hair is slick and sleek in a high ponytail, and skin is model-esque bronze. I don't like the visible lip liner, but you knew I'd say that.

Elizabeth Banks

Very nice. Elizabeth is so pretty, and I put her in the same category as Diane Kruger—you never want to give them too much makeup or over-style their hair, as it will feel too harsh. I think I like her hair the best here, with a blown-out texture and deep side part. Blush/contour is perhaps a bit heavy, and again, I don't like the darkened brows. I'm all for a full and natural brow, but I think we're moving away from filling them in this strongly.

Chrissy Teigen

Finally! Chrissy ditched the scary contouring and monotone neutral colours (hair, skin, makeup) that we saw on her at the Billboard Awards. She gets major points for freshness and prettiness. I just wanna pinch one of those pink cheeks! The downside: I'm not cool with the false lashes, and I think something definitely got lost in the execution of the graphic black eyeliner.

Katie Holmes

Katie's hair is so long now! I haven't been paying attention. I still will always prefer her with some sort of bob—she is the Queen of the Bob—but she does look good here, and very effortless. I appreciate the natural lashes and seamless makeup job. Just the same comment on the darkened, angular brows. Not necessary!

Janelle Monáe

Janelle continues to wear the heck out of these over-the-top, pompadour-esque hairstyles. (Check out her Met Ball look for another variation.) On anyone else, it would be costumey, but she somehow manages to look cool, comfortable and high-fashion. I love her full, brushed-up brows and matte red lips also.

Emmanuelle Chriqui

We've been seeing a ton of Emmanuelle lately, and she's really upped her red carpet game—I'm so impressed! This time, skin is super-fresh and eyes very clean, to go with the strawberry-red lips. (Side note: How flawless is her skin?!) It's a great look for daytime and I've gotta say, I've been obsessing over this lipstick colour as of late, as a softer alternative to red. It also appears that she got a lob haircut since Sunday night's Critics' Choice TV Awards.

Amanda Seyfried

Amanda always does some variation of shimmer eyeshadow, and this time, it was a gold. I like it very much with her matching hair colour, plus chunky black lashes and soft neutrals everywhere else. You always get the feeling with her that she'd rather be bare-faced in jeans and a T-shirt, though.

Sophia Bush

My goodness, Sophia has nice eyebrows. She also likes to take some interesting makeup risks, which I admire. Here, it's a charcoal black smoky eye in a rather unusual rounded shape that seems very runway-inspired. Thankfully, she paired it with natural skin, a soft nude gloss and hair back to keep the focus on the dramatic statement.

Coco Rocha

I haven't seen Coco in a while; it seems like her short haircut grew out really fast. Also, who else could look so fresh and ethereal in a deep brownish-cherry lipstick? (It's Lipstick Queen Cupid's Bow in Apollo with Lip Liner in Berry.) It kind of picks up on the tones in her hair, and I'm really into that idea lately, of matching an element of your makeup to your hair.

Juliette Lewis

Holy wow—Juliette is aging really, really well! I don't think we've ever seen her on a red carpet here on Beauty Editor, but she did a great job of understated elegance. Loose, semi-beachy updo, flattering pinky-coral lip colour and matching sheer cheeks. I'm not into the lashes, but otherwise everything is very nicely restrained. Her skin is in great shape, too.

Gigi Hadid

Not the greatest quality shot of Gigi, but you can still appreciate the collagen. I mean, just look at her 20-year-old skin. It's impossibly smooth and plump, and picking up the light in all the right places. She does wear a lot of makeup, however. I'm not sure we needed quite so much shimmer shadow and false lashes. Maybe she should take a few cues from her sister...

Bella Hadid

Oh yes, in case you didn't know, there are two of them, and Bella is also a model. Her style is less sparkly glam and more about the matte pinkish neutrals. She has crazy-good skin, just wondering if maybe her hair colour is a bit too dark? I think a medium brown would suit her better.

Elsa Hosk

Those of us who are suckers for freckles will appreciate Elsa's makeup here, which doesn't cover them up, just emphasizes her natural beauty. I also love her defined black lashes, pale lavender shadow and soft full brows. Her hair texture is what I aspire to daily. But what's up with the over-lining of her lips? That part could be less obvious.

Brittany Snow

From afar, Brittany's look is very flattering. I like the idea of just black waterlines against a nude face and a sleek, tight updo. It's just that up-close, the lipstick/liner and the foundation feel a bit too heavy, and the eyeliner is slightly harsh. If she had a fresher skin texture and clear gloss, it would be much more modern.

Gillian Jacobs

I've already praised Gillian's Critics' Choice TV Awards look up, down, left, right and centre as one of my absolute favourites. As Eman mentioned in the comments, it's the "haircut of the year" for sure. I'm obsessed with the length, texture and "non-colour" of blondish brown. It's SO refreshing to see a return to normal hair colours after the rampant blonderexia that's been popular in Hollywood for so many years.

Angie Harmon

My other favourite from the Critic's Choice TV Awards was Angie and her rainbow eyeshadow. And believe you me, that's a sentence I never expected to type! But here it is—she managed to make what could be super-tacky makeup look amazing, paired with radiant skin and off-the-face hair. Plus, she gets extra points for looking so darn happy to be there.
