An orange cream lipstick-blush you NEED to own.

Every once in a while–though I'm hardly in need of more makeup!—I'll pick up another little pot from RMS Beauty to add to my collection.

Yep, I buy this stuff all by myself, which is a big deal in beauty editor land. To me, RMS isn't just another makeup brand. The ingredients lists are the best in the business as far as I'm concerned, and I really respect founder Rose-Marie Swift's point of view. Her approach to colour, texture and application matches how I want to look exactly, i.e. fresh, sheer, effortless, natural!

So now I want to tell you about the latest RMS prod getting much love from me.

See how that pot is a bit banged-up already? That is love, my friends.

So what you're looking at is a Lip2Cheek. This is RMS Beauty's range of cream colours that work as both lipsticks and blushes.

Last summer, they came out with a "Wearable Brights" collection that included this orange, called Curious:

I mean... WOW!

For months, every time I'd visit The Detox Market in Toronto, I'd look at it longingly, maybe swatch it on the back of my hand, and then put it down. It's just so... orange. I didn't think I'd be able to pull it off.

Finally, at the beginning of the summer, I caved and bought it. As it turns out, that was an excellent decision because just like the collection name, it is indeed a "wearable bright."

This creamy orange is surprisingly versatile.

Yeah, mah fingers have been all over this. (Keepin' it real with the photos, guys!) See how much I've used it so far?

By the way, because it is coconut oil-based, it is naturally antibacterial. So you don't have to worry about dipping a finger straight in the pot. Here's the full ingredients list:

*Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, *Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, *Cera Alba (Beeswax), *Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Fruit, *Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, *Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Seed Butter, *Buriti (Mauritia Flexuosa) Oil, Tocopherol(non-GMO), Helianthus Annus (Sunflower) seed Oil, Propolis Extract, Centella Asiatica Extract, *Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) Extract, and may contain: [+/- Titanium Dioxide CI 77891, Iron Oxides CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499, Mica CI 77019, Red 30 CI 73360, Red 6 Lake CI 15850]

Here's how Curious looks on the skin:

RMS Curious (swatch)

See, it's not the typical red-orange that you usually find in makeup collections. It's a lighter, true orange with golden undertones, and the faintest hint of golden shimmer.

Eeks, shimmer! But don't worry. On the cheeks, it looks more like a flat colour, and goes on very sheer. If your skin is pale like mine, you'd obviously apply way less than I did above for the swatch, but for darker tones, it is buildable to more intensity. If your complexion undertones are warm to neutral, then this is going to look amazing, especially with a hint of summer tan!

You notice the shimmer a tiny bit more on the lips, but it's verrry subtle and actually super-pretty. Plus, I think I'm ready for a soft shimmer texture after all these years of avoiding it; it feels quite modern again. Here's how it looks:

Nice, right? I love that it's a paler, creamier orange than the norm! It may settle a tad into your lip creases, which is to be expected with the Lip2Cheek products. But I really didn't find it too bad, or drying, and it's nothing a fingertip or bit of lip balm couldn't fix.

But here's the cool thing. Curious is also a fabulous shade to layer under or over other lip colours!

Lately, I've been using it with Mineral Fusion's Sheer Moisture Tint in Smolder:

This is a sheer strawberry red gloss (which I also love, by the way). Over top of Curious, here's what happens:

The colours combine to give you the most amazing, bright creamy coral! (It's even more unique-looking in real life than the photos, trust me.) Because the Mineral Fusion is so glossy and hydrating, it gets rid of any problems you might have with the Curious settling in creases.

I'm sure Curious would look great combined with many other colours—it's that pigmented, so it'll really amp the orange undertones in anything you pair it with.

Which makes it a wonderful asset to any makeup bag, in my opinion. Who doesn't look great in coral lips, I ask you?
