Q: Hi Bill, I'm thinking about getting a drastic cut, but I have a round face, and am not sure what would look the best on me! Could you help me out? Thanks! — Emily

Emily isn't sure which styles will suit her round face.

A: Emily, I love my job...

I can't see what is the exact amount of hair you have, so I am going to show you the range of styles I think your face can take on.

The first thing that comes to my mind is an annoying length, hard-to-deal-with fringe.

If you took your part a bit farther over to the side, then brought more hair forward to add thickness and fluidity to the new fringe, this would look amazing with your glasses:

Then, at the other end of the spectrum, I'm feeling pixie. Wait, don't freak—it is an option at any time in your life.

Keeping the fringe long and side-swept, and going pixie everywhere else, is so hip it hurts...

Same cut, but no fringe and not too tight to the head:

Michelle Williams pixie cut

Michelle Williams' pixie cut.

This style would be like pulling your hair off your face and neck, only in a cut. Extreme but super-fresh!

I would love to see this mid-length cut on you as well, to show off your wave and curl:

The length and layers would be quite versatile; you could wear it up or down with this length.

Have fun...
