Sabrina Carpenter, Serayah and more.

At the iHeartRadio Awards on Sunday night, there were lots of gentle waves, sleek bobs... and not a bright lip in sight! Here are all the hair and makeup looks:

Sabrina Carpenter

What I love: Rarely do I like a deep charcoal smoky eye on a fair-skinned blonde—but this is so gorgeous on Sabrina! The fact that it's a reverse smoky eye, with strong smudgy shadow along the lower lids, makes it feel modern. Same with her perfected matte, blush-free skin and glorious dark, un-tweezed brows. Love that her hair is only semi-textured, which is an evolution of the overly crunchy, beachy styles of a few years ago. What I'd change: The white waterlines and darker line underneath her bottom lip are unnecessary. Although gosh, I shouldn't even mention the white eyeliner compared to what you'll soon see...

Serayah

What I love: Serayah's straight, strawberry blonde bob is giving me life! I can't wait for her to get more famous—if you want to see her beauty evolution so far, this is how she looked last year, her first time on this blog. Also pleased that she kept her makeup so minimal (I wish I had a more hi-res close-up, sorry!). With just brows and flirty lashes, you appreciate the tone-on-tone colour combo of her skin, hair and dress. What I'd change: Nothing. (I think her falsies are basically okay.)

Selena Gomez

What I love: Selena's hair looks pretty good here. Maybe a bit dry, but at least it's soft and unstructured—I hate when hair looks obviously curled. She also has such nice plump skin! What I'd change: The false lashes are too much, especially with the white waterlines (whyyyyy is that technique coming back?!). I also think her over-lined lips look harsh, and are aging. Soft edges like she did here are way prettier. I'm not sure how I feel about this choker trend....

Taylor Swift

What I love: I know some of you don't like it, but I'm okay with Taylor's bob. It's a heck of a lot better than her mullet cut of 2015! The other great thing about this cut is that the bangs obscure her go-to black liquid liner that is probably lurking under there. What I'd change: I guess nothing—my thoughts on Taylor's style involve more than just the hair and makeup. When she tries to be edgy and sexy, it never feels authentic to me... I'd love to see her more natural and Boho, back to her folksy/country roots.

Olivia Holt

What I love: Olivia is just so cute, I can almost forgive a lot of things that aren't my taste here. The soft, tawny shades of the blush and lip gloss are great with her skin tone and brown eyes. The false lashes are over-the-top, yes, but could be okay IF everything else was very modern. What I'd change: The problems are the white eyeliner (again!) and the bouffant hairstyle, which seems like an odd choice for a music event. I understand that the height makes her round face appear more oval, but it's so matronly and formal. My thing with artistic lashes is that you need everything else very clean and simple if they're going to work (even the blush and brow pencil should be dialled back).

Julianne Hough

What I love: It's not my favourite Julianne look, but I wanted to point out that she IS improving in terms of her makeup colour palette. These peachy nudes on her cheeks, lips and lids are so much more flattering than the too-dark tones she wore at People's Choice, for example. Her updo with height at the top is better than Olivia's—it's softer, not so "politician's wife." What I'd change: I really don't like when false lashes are all the same length instead of tapering the way normal lashes do with the shape of the eye. She may have overdone it on the powder, creating a dry skin texture, and there's that unflattering lower lip liner again! A warmer hair colour, like she had in 2012, would give her more vibrance than the extreme cool-toned blonde. Finally, Julianne's brows... clearly she has a lot of hair to work with, but I feel like too much has been removed underneath, so the hairs are sitting in a downward direction. Mine grow like this, too (towards the centre), and they need more hair removed from the top than the bottom, softer edges, a little thinning throughout, and a good brow gel to hold them up. Mary would know just what to do.

Demi Lovato

What I love: I always love Demi's skin, although her freckles aren't as apparent this time for some reason. (Maybe they're not real and she draws them on?) I find the jet-black hue a little harsh, but her straight bob with choppy ends is pretty cute. What I'd change: Over-lining is getting out of hand, no? Demi did not need to do this with her upper lip! (Never mind that her bottom lip has unblended lip liner and I think I see white eyeliner again... was there a memo for this red carpet?) Her brows are also blocky and Instagrammy. It's too much!

Zendaya

What I love: Speaking of too much—Zendaya's heavy look is only appealing to me from a distance. I do like the bangs on her, as well as this understated straight brown lob (which I'm sure is a wig, right?). The plummy nude colour palette of her makeup is also nice. What I'd change: They call it "makeup shaming" now, and I guess I'm a makeup shamer because I can't understand thinking this is flattering. Why do people draw those sharp edges on their brows? What is appealing about the most obvious thick strip lashes? Why would you cover up gorgeous 19-year-old skin with full-coverage foundation? So many questions I will never get answers to....

Iggy Azalea

What I love: This dark purple lipstick reminds me a bit of a look Iggy rocked in 2011. I actually like the contrast of it against her skin and hair, and she's looking more like herself here (maybe the fillers have settled down?). What I'd change: Just leave your brows alone, kids! Iggy's didn't used to be this thin, and once you over-tweeze, there's often no going back—filling them in doesn't really work. While I don't love the lashes on their own, in the absence of brows, they work to balance the strong lips and ensure her eyes don't disappear.

Cheryl Burke

What I love: This straight dark lob is fantastic for Cheryl, as are the peachy makeup tones. This is another example of repeating the same shade on lids, cheeks and lips. What I'd change: It's also an example of brow-filling that I can't help but feel distracted by. I'm wondering if bangs just below the brows wouldn't be a great solution for her, since she also has a high forehead. The lashes I can live with, but her blending could be better... and I think she must be getting upper lip injections now? The lumpiness is not a good look.

Kat Graham

What I love: Kat has come a long way from looks like these. We still have things to work on, but no longer is she wearing all the colours at once! And it's nice to see her hair down, even if these retro waves need more brushing out. What I'd change: Besides the hair, I wish she'd give up the "social media" brows and false lashes. Then we'd be talking! I think Kat has such a unique and attractive face, and I love seeing her in softer makeup. We're getting there!

Keke Palmer

What I love: Keke's willingness to experiment with colour is admirable... even if it doesn't always work. Darn, just when she was on a roll with this look and this look! What I'd change: A big part of the issue here is that she got a bang trim, and baby bangs are friggin' HARD to pull off—especially when your brows aren't particularly strong. The other thing is the purplish eyeshadow, which is overkill when her lips are so shockingly bold.

Laura Marano

What I love: I guess Laura's peachy lip colour? It's very inoffensive. And she does have lovely skin. What I'd change: Oh dear, this hair. I've never been one to say "cut your hair"—I LIKE long hair, and I cut mine maybe twice or three times a year, tops. But seriously, Laura. Cut your hair. And brush it out. The ends look split, and the piecey texture and half-up style are are soooo dated. Oh yes, and that black eyeliner in the waterlines is too harsh.

Meghan Trainor

What I love: Meghan's green eyes look quite beautiful here (even surrounded by some things I have a problem with). I think the green stands out because of her auburn hair, which I'm so glad she's kept, and the soft peach-nude makeup in the same colour family. Her brows look really good as well. Most of all, I love this side-swept textured hairstyle on her. What I'd change: Blending is your friend, Meghan! I don't think I can bear seeing another set of "ring around the lips." Of course, she's doing the white eyeliner like everyone else... and still has a penchant for bad false lashes.

Karrueche Tran

What I love: Few people can pull off an ultra-tight, high ponytail, but Karrueche is one of them. She has great lips—and now I'm starting to really appreciate when people don't eff around with lip liners! What I'd change: Gah, these smoky eyes! Funny how we started this red carpet report with an example of great smoky eyes... and now we're closing with an example of not-so-great ones. There is way too much product on her lids. Her brows also look stencilled on.

Who had your favourite (and least favourite) beauty looks on this red carpet?
