Leah is ready for a hair change.

Want your own hair consultation from celebrity hairstylist Bill Angst? Send at least TWO well-lit, preferably hi-res photos of you (one close-up, one full-body) with a brief description of your hair texture, colour and main hair challenges to info@beautyeditor.ca with “Bill Angst Hair Consultation” in the subject line.

Q: Hi Bill, I've tried many different haircuts, but have not been able to find one that would complement my natural hair texture. I've found myself in a bit of a rut and I am ready for a change.

I have naturally blonde, fine hair, and a lot of it. It has a wave, but generally straightens itself out by the end of the day. I tend to keep my hair long because the weight helps keep my hair straight without having to use a straightener. All of these pictures show how my hair looks after drying mostly with a blow dryer, and then air-drying.

Leah had bangs last year and is willing to try them again.

I would really like some ideas on some different cuts and colours I could try. I had bangs last year and they are growing out. I would be happy to have an extreme change as well as a less extreme/longer hair option. I am even willing to give short hair another shot.

Leah's bangs are now growing out.

I have also been tossing around the idea of colouring it. However, I've never coloured my hair and am not sure what would be a good shade for my skin tone. What do you think? I appreciate any advice you can offer. Thank you! — Leah

Leah's hair is naturally blonde, but she is open to colouring it.

A: Leah, I happen to be a fan of long hair with the right bangs. The side-swept bang also suits you.

These length and bang shapes are how I would refine what you already have:

Amy Astley, 3.1 Phillip Lim Spring 2012 show, 2011

Amy Astley in Into the Gloss

This is a sexy shag that would be so much fun for the summer:

Dianna Agron, Glee The 3D Concert Movie premiere, 2011

Also, darkening your roots would add an edge to your pretty blonde.

This would be a chic option—no bangs with your natural colour:

Brooklyn Decker, Fashion's Night Out, 2011

Here are a few short shapes and colours.

This a beige colour that would be easy to do:

Michelle Williams for Louis Vuitton

These blondes are a little lighter and brighter than your natural colour. Playing with colour is easier with short hair.

Josie Bissett, The 15th Annual Race To Erase MS, 2008

Sienna Miller, Casanova premiere, 2005

I give you this as an option in case you want to take a walk on the wild side:

Have fun changing things up…
