If you like your beauty on the casual and summery side, the annual Teen Choice Awards always provide plenty of inspiration. Here are the 10 celebs who impressed me most this year:

Lucy Hale

What I love: Lucy's textured hair, big brows and bright eyes. This might be the best I've seen her look! She executes the bedhead style perfectly, and her new fuller brows add sophistication (just compare and contrast with her angular brows two years ago). Although I prefer natural lashes, I think the falsies work here because the shape is right, and the rest of the makeup is radiant and rosy. What I'd change: Just softening the edge of the lipstick on her lower lip.

Lucy is wearing: Moisturizer // Foundation // Illuminating powder in Amped Up // Blush in Berry Glow // Highlighter in Pearly Glow // Lipstick in Bare All // Lipstick in Baby Me

Jessica Alba

What I love: The contrast of Jessica's understated hair and makeup with the more dramatic, semi-sheer black crop top. Strong makeup could've been too aggressive—but her perfected skin, minimal blush, shimmery champagne shadow and sheer lip gloss look really fresh. I don't mind the false lashes here. What I'd change: Nothing.

Kat Graham

What I love: Kat's new baby bangs and half-up hair. This style is seriously cute on her—along with the much lighter touch on the makeup, of course! (Just look back at her usual red carpet get-ups, and you'll see what I mean.) Whittling the makeup down to just lashes and brows really allows you to appreciate her nice skin and pretty features. What I'd change: I still wish she'd give up the green contacts, and the brows are too Instagrammy.

Ashley Benson

What I love: Ashley's silver and gold metallic shadows. She pulls off dramatic eye makeup so well (remember the pink?), so this is a great look for her, framed by a gorgeous pair of feathery brows. I love that the colours are concentrated below her eyes, and the rest of her makeup is a nude semi-matte. Her hair is interesting as well—centre-parted and pinned back on each side to showcase the oversized hoop earrings. What I'd change: Nothing.

Chandler Kinney

What I love: Chandler's curly side braid and electric pink lipstick. The bright pop of colour may not be as "on trend" right now compared to nude and brown-toned lips, but I think it's a breath of fresh air. Natural brows and black lashes complete the look. What I'd change: Nothing.

Sarah Hyland

What I love: Sarah's royal blue wings at the outer lower corners of her eyes. I never get tired of bright eyeliner for the summertime, and this shade looks great against the tawny pink colour palette. Her hair has a similar texture to Lucy Hale's, except Sarah did a deep side part and braided it back on one side. What I'd change: She doesn't need so much makeup—I'd take away the false lashes, tone down the blush/contour and lipstick, and leave the brows au naturel.

Sarah is wearing: Foundation // Contour in Medium Contour // Blush in Es Vedra // Illuminator in Brilliant Light // Eyeshadow in Rosegold // Eyeshadow in Ambre Nuit // Eyeshadow in Wild Cosmos // Mascara // False lashes // Brow pencil in Soft Brown // Lip liner in Iconic Nude // Lipstick in Half-N-Half

Gina Rodriguez

What I love: Gina's pink lips, cheeks and lids. The playful colour and the sheer textures—along with her newly blondified hair—are a huge departure from her previous red carpet looks. I think the false lashes with the black liquid liner work well to define and open up her eyes. What I'd change: The brows are a bit sharp and too-obviously darkened.

Gina is wearing: Moisturizer // Eye serum // Skin perfector // Primer // Foundation and concealer in Honey // Bronzer in Sunkissed // Contour in Defining Roses // Eyeshadow in Pink and Plenty // Eyeshadow in Biggest Blossom // Eyeshadow in Bountiful Beige // Eyeshadow in Bubble Bath // Eyeshadow in Blushed // Eyeshadow in Strawberry Fudge // Mascara in Black // Brow pencil in Deep Brown // Brow mousse in Deep Brown // Tinted lip balm in Flowering Freesia // Tinted lip balm in Curvy Candy

Shay Mitchell

What I love: Shay's unexpected burgundy shadow all the way around her eyes. It's definitely a challenging makeup colour and shape (as we've seen on Kristen Stewart) but she wears it, instead of it wearing her. The high, floppy top knot keeps the focus on her gaze. What I'd change: Like Sarah Hyland, she could get away with more natural lashes, a softer lip and less obvious contouring. The filled-in brow shape just doesn't look good up-close.

Shay is wearing: Primer // Face mist // Contour stick // Contour powder // Blush in Malibu Berry // Highlighter in Gold // Eyeshadow // Eyeliner in Onyx // Mascara // Brow pencil in Brunette // Lip liner in Rosebud // Lipstick in Safe Word (with clear gloss on top)

Lea Michele

What I love: Lea's flash of teal liner framed by defined, natural lashes. Despite the Eagle situation (it happens, in the summertime!), her skin looks really fresh, with a lighter touch than usual. I love the pinky nude lips and her centre-parted hair, tucked behind her ears and cascading down her back. What I'd change: Some bronzer to connect the mismatched skin tones, and I think her brow shape could be better (the tails are on the skinny side).

Lea is wearing: Face mist // Moisturizer // BB cream // Eyeliner in S-20 // Lip balm // Lipstick in Nile Nude

Victoria Justice

What I love: Victoria's pink-tinted crown braid. It adds a youthful, playful element to her more "done" makeup. I also like the stained berry lips and matching sheer blush. She has an enviable set of brows! What I'd change: Less foundation and eye makeup would look fresher and more modern.
