Fresh skin, raspberry lips and soft hair!

Fall has just arrived, and celebs are slowly making the transition from easy-breezy summer beauty to looks that have a little more polish. Think darkened brows, deeper lipstick and a little more drama on the eyes.

Keep scrolling for the latest beauty inspiration:

Jaime King

What I like: Jaime's healthy skin and minimal makeup. Usually she goes heavier (remember the bottom false lashes?), but this low-key peachy look is the most beautiful I've EVER seen her. The dark brows and long lashes frame her face perfectly. What I'd change: Nothing.

Ali Larter

What I like: Ali's fresh-faced glamour. Like Jaime, she has an incredible complexion, and lucky for us, didn't cover it up with heavy foundation or powder. The rich lipstick and defined lashes are what brings the drama, but loose hair keeps it from feeling too formal. What I'd change: Nothing.

Lupita Nyong'o

What I like: There's so much happening here—bold pink lipstick! lilac eyeshadow! a giant headscarf!—but Lupita still looks out-of-this-world gorgeous. Nobody does colour-blocked makeup better. See how the lip shade makes the pastels edgy, not sweet? What I'd change: Nothing.

Natalie Portman

What I like: Natalie's soft, romantic, slightly fuzzy waves. Ah, I miss her on the red carpet—don't you? The green shadow is also an unexpected surprise; it's matchy to the dress but I think it works. I like that she chose a berry lip stain instead of playing it safe with a nude. What I'd change: The lashes are a little heavy, but okay.

Zoey Deutch

What I like: Zoey's brows are to die for! I also like her light makeup here: flushed cheeks, pinky stained lips, pale copper shadow and black mascara. The ultra-stylized faux bob isn't my thing, but I get that she's doing a head-to-toe Miu Miu look. What I'd change: Nothing.

Diane Kruger

What I like: Diane's rosy lips—the colour and texture are as if she just finished eating a Popsicle! As usual, I'm a fan of her light makeup (which she does herself), especially the chunky lashes. What I'd change: The updo is a bit blah. I miss the days of Diane's honey blonde wavy lob!

Alicia Vikander

What I like: Alicia's ponytail 'n' bangs combo. So adorable with her fresh-faced, low-key makeup (just lashes and a hint of taupe shadow). This feels way more "her" than when she glams up in dark purple eyeshadow and berry lipstick—like at TIFF 2015, for example. What I'd change: Nothing, except I'd give her some lip balm.

Suki Waterhouse

What I like: Suki's rosy cheeks and matching matte lips. (Or are her lips bare? Hard to tell.) Notice how she chose pinks for her makeup, even though her dress is orange. The baby cat eyes bring out her deep brown eyes. What I'd change: I love a dark brow on Suki, but the shade she chose here is too warm, and the strokes seem sloppy.

Emily Blunt

What I like: Emily's bedazzled updo. It's actually a pearl and gold flower crown, and manages to look elegant—not girlish. Her skin is super-luminous, and the opaque pink lip gloss is pretty. What I'd change: Not sure if it's for a role, but I'm really not feeling her as a blonde. I also think her eye makeup could be cleaner (less darkness under the eyes, and shorter falsies).

Dakota Fanning

What I like: Dakota's bright gold liner, of course. The Fanning sisters always take such amazing makeup risks, and wear them in a modern way—keeping skin and brows natural, with nude lips and loose hair. What I'd change: Nothing.

Greer Grammer

What I like: Greer's skin! It's unbelievably radiant, and there's not a discolouration in sight. Her brows are looking good, and the lips and cheeks and nice and subtle. What I'd change: Black liner and heavy lashes are a little harsh with her fair colouring.

Kristen Wiig

What I like: Kristen's luminized cheeks. This is something I talk about in Better Skin in 7—see how that little touch of shine makes her complexion seem instantly more perfected and youthful? The sheer warm red lip and matching blush are also great with her tawny complexion. What I'd change: The blush needs better blending on the one cheek.

Anna Ewers

What I like: Anna's sculpted eyes. This is such a model technique for heavy lids—to shade them in various soft browns, but only wearing mascara on the top lashes, and skipping eyeliner. With a tight top knot, it really shows off her bone structure. What I'd change: Nothing. (But pretty sure only models can pull stuff like this off!)
