Editor’s note: The Detox Diaries are back! After Carole completed the Benourished juice cleanse (detailed in Part 1, if you missed it), she bravely dived into cleanse #2…
During the window between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, I took on the juice cleanse that started it all: BluePrintCleanse. Based out of New York, it’s perhaps the best-known juice cleanse out there, as celebrities like Olivia Wilde, Blake Lively, and Jessica Szohr have all been spotted carrying BPC’s signature bottles. Although the company has been around since 2007, they just started offering overnight shipping to Canada—so perfect timing for me to give this cleanse a go! Keep reading »
One of the problems (as in, #beautyeditorproblems) with writing for magazines AND maintaining a beauty blog is that I write magazine articles so far in advance that by the time I’ll allowed to cover certain trends here, my attention has drifted elsewhere. SORRY GUYS. This is what’s happened with BB Creams—a brand new beauty category that has recently arrived in Canada, and which I wrote about all the way back in the summer for fall issues of ELLE Canada and FLARE.
But today I realized, gosh, I haven’t even talked about them with you guys! Not very kind of me, I know. And unless you’re an early adopter (yay you!), you’re probably wondering what the heck this stuff even IS. Is it for blemishes? Is it a balm? What’s the difference between this and a tinted moisturizer? Can I ditch my foundation and concealer now?
So.Many.Questions. And I’m here to answer them. Here’s your BB Cream primer (ha! get it?), and how to decide if you need to embrace this trend. Keep reading »
Here we go! It’s your GG beauty coverage—and my goodness, there are a lot of celebs to view and discuss! (Um, 25, to be exact.)
My overall observation? There was a lot more experimentation going on with the hair than the makeup. And of course, as is the case with every awards show, a whole bunch of celebs stuck with the can’t-go-wrong updo and nude makeup combo. It’s boring for beauty editors, but it works.
Shall we do something different this time and start with my least favourite looks first? (You know, the automatic ABORT ABORT ABORTs.) Then, we’ll talk about the mushy middle, and finally get to my favourites of the night. Let’s dig in! Keep reading »
