Jessica Biel, I am really starting to come around to your brand of beauty.
No, there’s nothing groundbreaking here at the MTV Movie Awards last night, but if you could get away with such simple hair and makeup and yet STILL look red carpet-worthy, wouldn’t you do this too?
Let’s review. The hair is ever-so-slightly lighter at the ends, in sort of a modified take on the ombré trend. (Whoever does her colour is a genius.) I also love the contrast of centre-parted, mostly straight hair with the surprise of textured, flipped-out ends.
The makeup is classic Jessica: just a hint of definition around the eyes, barely detectable amounts of blush, and a touch of gloss on the lips. I’m telling you, I’m really feeling this one.
Is it just me or does Eva Mendes look more like she’s heading to the office here, instead of the fancy MTV Movie Awards? Aside from the one-shouldered sequined dress, that is.
Usually, Eva nails it, but I’m really not feeling this. Is it the hair? Maybe it’s the hair. On any normal day, this would be a perfectly serviceable blowout, but I would have liked to see something more stylin’, maybe a sleek pony or a bit more wave.
The makeup, too, is pretty low-key, although I will say I’m loving that pinky nude lip. And doesn’t she have the most gorgeous skin? It’s flawless, trust me—I just shrunk this pic down from ten times the size. The woman does not have any pores!
I think I missed the memo—when did Scarlett Johansson go blonde again?
Not that I’m complaining, really. While I loved that strawberry colour she’d been sporting lately, I do think blonde, shown here at the MTV Movie Awards last night, suits her best.
(And as a very wise hairdresser told me a few years ago when I began dabbling in various shades of brunette and red, once you’ve been blonde you usually always go back. I call it Blondorexia.)
As for her makeup and the hairstyle itself? All pretty, if forgettable. Although I think we could all DIY this look—nothing too complicated here.
