Jennifer Lawrence - Hunger Games premiere LA

Oh Em Gee. THIS IS THE WEEK. The week that the first movie in The Hunger Games trilogy hits theatres. I haven’t even read the books yet (well, I’ve got four days still) and I’m beside myself with excitement! It’s going to be like The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter all over again. Except probably better.

Also? If you didn’t know who Jennifer Lawrence was before, you will now. She plays the heroine Katniss—and let’s just say that with the books selling 23 million copies and counting, Jen’s about to be launched into international super-stardom.

Here at BEAUTY EDITOR HQ, of course, we love nothing more than a little beauty retrospective. (I also have a soft spot for Jennifer because we have the exact same type of eyelid crease. Woman with Christmas present

Guys! I can’t remember a year when Christmas crept up on me like this. Anyone else feeling this way? I haven’t even STARTED my Christmas shopping, which is why my annual gift guide post(s) have been so tardy. (Apologies to you early birds out there!)

For anyone else who’s still on the hunt, this one’s for you… because even though I’m woefully unprepared for the holidays, at least the beauty companies have us covered with some seriously impressive gift sets. Seriously, they make shopping for any female on your list so much easier than having to scout out individual prodz from a bunch of different beauty counters. Some are so cute that you won’t even have to wrap ‘em! I’ve got 15 options here—at all price points and body parts!—so dig in and get your shop on. Keep reading »

Madonna - W.E. premiere - TIFF 2011

Celebrities have the Oscars (and let’s face it, a zillion other red carpet events). Beauty editors have the P&G Beauty & Grooming Awards. They’re our equivalent of the Oscars, and they were held this week in downtown Toronto. So you might say it was a pretty big week in beauty, even though I’ve been MIA for most of it thanks to the terrible cold virus that’s been going around—anyone else been struck down by that? Thankfully Elizabeth and Nicole have been holding down the fort.

Anyway! The beauty industry never sleeps, so I’ve got loads to update you on regardless: big fragrance news, new nail shades and much more. Keep reading »
