Oh look! It’s Daphne Groeneveld. You know, the model with the LIPS. This pic is from Chanel’s pre-fall show the other day, which had a Bombay-meets-Paris theme. I don’t need to be the one to tell you that as per usual everything was utterly gorgeous in that special Chanel way. They even have a new nail shade! (Hint: metallics are still going strong.)
More on that in a sec, as well as a bunch of other beauty news from this week. The great Pat McGrath was in town, I got a bunch of beauty services (including one that was a tad… shall we say… “unusual”) and the blogosphere was a-buzz about a brave vlogger with acne and a guy who reads messages into hair-twirling. Oh yes, it’s been an interesting week…. Keep reading »
The Fashion Week runways are showcasing a lot of different hair looks, but the soft waves at DKNY were totally my fave. The general texture, shine and smoothness of the models’ locks is what I seek to achieve daily… but I somehow fail miserably because unless it’s a special occasion, I refuse to spend more than 10 (okay, five) minutes with a blow dryer in my hand.

Ever since I bit the bullet and went for all-over (coppery) colour with a smattering of tone-on-tone highlights—instead of run-of-the-mill blonde highlights on my natural mousy base—I’ve been obsessed with hair colour maintenance. Enter the über-talented celebrity colourist and Clairol colour director Marie Robinson (you’ve already seen her in these videos on colour trends and colour 101). Guys? PLEASE don’t miss this final vid in our little series here, because her advice on taking care of your colour will seriously rock your world. (It certainly did mine—I’ve had a major upgrade in my routine.) Sure, we’ve all heard that colour-treated hair needs colour-treated hair products… but there is oh so much more.
Here’s the vid: Keep reading »
