Oh Em Gee. THIS IS THE WEEK. The week that the first movie in The Hunger Games trilogy hits theatres. I haven’t even read the books yet (well, I’ve got four days still) and I’m beside myself with excitement! It’s going to be like The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter all over again. Except probably better.
Also? If you didn’t know who Jennifer Lawrence was before, you will now. She plays the heroine Katniss—and let’s just say that with the books selling 23 million copies and counting, Jen’s about to be launched into international super-stardom.
Here at BEAUTY EDITOR HQ, of course, we love nothing more than a little beauty retrospective. (I also have a soft spot for Jennifer because we have the exact same type of eyelid crease. Meaning non-existent. So sue me—these are the things I pay attention to.) Even though I’m more of a single-serving makeup kind of girl, there’s something about a pretty palette that makes me swoon. But it’s not just their obvious cuteness that gets me. I look at their expertly coordinating shades, all organized in neat little rows, and imagine that using them will make my life equally organized and therefore better.
It’s the little things.

Sads! Our lives are flying by and 2011 is almost over. Besides being a time for ignoring the gym, eating monstrous quantities of sugar and sporting pajamas as day-wear, this last week of the year is traditionally a time of reflection—a time to look back AND forward.
So yes, it’s almost time for our New Year’s beauty resolutions again. (Eeks! Don’t make me read that post and realize how much I fell off the wagon.) But first! It’s equally important that we pay tribute to the prodz that rocked our world in 2011. Or at least, MY world.
