What it is: A lightweight, non-crispy texturizing spray.

What it does: Ever seen the movie French Kiss, starring Meg Ryan? I'm a bit fuzzy on the plot details, but wardrobe-wise, it was a big-screen version of "one piece, five ways" (a fashion magazine standby). Poor Meg got stuck in Paris sans luggage and had to work a white shirt and jeans like nobody's business. Très impressive.

That movie also marked the debut of Meg's much-copied shag hairdo (which pre-dated The Aniston)—a piecey, layered style that made New York-based Sally Hershberger a household name and sought-after celeb stylist.

Now we can get our hands on Sally's full line of styling products—which just arrived in Shoppers Drug Mart stores—including this appropriately-named Shagg Spray. What I like about this product is that it's not crunchy at all, even when you spray it on dry hair. (You're actually supposed to blast it with a hairdryer to make it pliable, but what can I say? I like to break the rules.) I'm adding it to my beauty arsenal for days when I want to create a messy, tousled look, which works even better when you don't wash your hair. Meg would be proud!

Priced at $11.99 for 125 mL. Available exclusively at Shoppers Drug Mart stores across Canada.
