As far as makeup goes, Giorgio Armani is just about the ultimate. The pigments! The textures! It's no wonder that makeup artists RAVE about the foundations (one of Giorgio's has been in every makeup artist's kit I've encountered).

Two new and limited-edition goodies have now arrived that you should know about. I mentioned one of them, the Blushing Fabric Second Skin Blush ($45, Holt Renfrew) back in March and was jumping up and down when it came in the mail. (Giorgio, I love you long time.) It is, quite simply, a triumph of texture and technology. In fact, they're calling it a "cosmetic textile" along the same lines as a couture dress—that's how well it glides over your skin. The woman behind it is none other than the great Linda Cantello, formerly of YSL and one of the most talented yet down-to-earth makeup artists you will ever meet (I interviewed her once as a newbie beauty ed). According to Linda, you should apply this blush in a figure eight motion from the apples of your cheeks right up to the temples, in order to help it melt in and enhance your natural glow.

The other new prod is the Face Fabric Radiance Second Skin Brightening Makeup ($55, Holt Renfrew), which is not quite a foundation but more of a "perfecting veil" (YSL makes one also, which may be where Linda got the idea?). It goes on very sheer, but you WILL notice the difference—suddenly, your skin will look that little bit more flawless.

Act fast for these puppies, though—as I said, both are limited edition and according to Giorgio's PR, the blush is already almost sold out!
