What say you about this whole Kristen Stewart cheating thing? (If you haven't been keeping up with your celebrity gossip, the Twilight starlet was caught two months ago making out with her Snow White and the Huntsman director, Rupert Sanders.)
I say—as is usually the case with these celeb "scandals"—it hasn't tarnished her image one bit. In the beauty world, there was some speculation that Balenciaga was going to drop her as the face of their newest fragrance, Florabotanica (which launches next month in Canada). But nope—creative director Nicolas Ghesquière is totally on board with what he calls her "mysterious" and "uncontrollable" ways.
And then there is the small fact that she's also the highest-earning actress right now. So, you know. They're going to make it work.
Here's a pic of what the bottle's going to look like:
And the ad itself:
Apparently it was inspired by Ghesquière's spring '08 collection, which featured these same flowers. But the idea wasn't the usual feminine floral thing. "They are beautiful but are they really that harmless? Flowers can be cruel, carnivorous or venomous, contain poisons. What would a perfume that contained the charm and mystery of flowers be like? This is the story that we wanted to tell with Florabotanica.”
I haven't tried it yet, but the notes are vetiver, amber, caladium leaf accord, rose, carnation and mint. Interesting. If it's anything like the last Balenciaga scent, it'll be amazing. Kristen calls it "light, clean, pretty and you don’t know you’re wearing it.”
And now I'll leave you with this quick behind-the-scenes vid about Kristen's experience on the Steven Meisel shoot for the campaign:
