Confession: I've amassed quite a collection of Shu Uemura false eyelashes over my beauty editing years... but I love them too much to actually, you know, wear. I think of them more like little works of art that come presented in adorable little cases, like some kind of beauty shadow box.
I feel like the brand thinks this way too, because its latest artistic eyelash endeavour is this pair, Rouge et Noir. They're so special that there are only 15 available in Canada! Inspired by Christian Louboutin's signature red soles, they were created to celebrate the special exhibition on the French shoe designer taking place at the Design Exchange in Toronto from June 21st through mid-September.
Here they are up close:
Talk about a collector's item! The 15 pairs go up for auction later this month, with each one numbered and signed by Shu Uemura international creative director Kakuyasu Uchiide, and the proceeds going towards the Design Exchange in support of their Emerging Designer Competition.
Would you wear these beauties?
Or do you think of them more like art?
Have you ever worn regular Shu Uemura lashes?
