Meet Rebecca Restrepo, makeup artist, native New Yorker and person who makes me want to scrape all my hair back and wear bright red lipstick.

Anyway, Rebecca is kind of a big deal. Not only does she serve as a spokesperson and brand ambassador for Elizabeth Arden as their global makeup artist, but she also does regular editorial work for top magazines and has a long list of A-List clients. Name-dropping time: they include Michelle Obama, Gwyneth Paltrow, Amy Adams, Brooklyn Decker, Brooke Shields, Nikki Reed and Kelly Ripa.

Obviously, I drink up any tips I can get from someone in this position! Here's the beautyeditor exclusive on how Rebecca changes her skincare and makeup routine when travelling:

How do you care for your skin when you travel?

Skincare is even more important when travelling. I love multi-use products and ones that can be packed in a carry-on bag. The Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Capsules Daily Youth Restoring Serum delivers so much moisture. I apply mine mid-flight for extra hydration and also use it as a makeup primer when travelling.

How do you deal with dryness and dehydration?

Skin can get very dehydrated when flying, so Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream is essential! I apply it to my lips before every flight and use it on my hands and elbows throughout the flight. I like to warm up the product in the palms of my hands before applying it to my skin, helping it activate and absorb quickly.

What about the eye area?

My eyes get very puffy when I fly. Instead of using a regular eye cream, I use Elizabeth Arden Visible Difference Brightening Eye Gel. I dab it on in gentle, circular motions for better results.

What do you use for foundation?

Someone once told me that solids travel better than liquids, so now I never go anywhere without my Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Sponge-On Cream Makeup. It provides as much coverage as I need, without making a mess in my makeup bag.

What are your tips for looking great upon arrival?

Before I land after a long flight, the perfect pick-me-ups are a touch of blush to brighten the cheeks, a swipe of brightening eyeshadow to open up the eyes and a dab of rosy lip gloss. Elizabeth Arden Ceramide Cream Blush in Nectar, Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Eye Shadow in Innocence and Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Luminous Lip Gloss in Sweet Pink are my go-to products.
