I don't know about you, but I'm not ready to give up my orange lipstick yet, even if we're heading into fall—and neither is Kate Bosworth! She tops our latest bunch of celeb hair and makeup ideas, along with Rihanna, Katy Perry and Julianne Hough.
These were the best celebrity beauty looks this week:
This is not the first time I've been wowed by Kate's orangey-red lip colour—see here for another good one. To complement it, she kept to the same basic formula of hair off the face and matching bright cheeks. There are also warm gold and burnt orange tones on her lids, along with brushed-up brows and an emphasis on the upper lashes only. She looks amazing!
Kate is wearing: Moisturizer // Eye cream // Foundation in 200 Fair // Concealer in 200 Light/Medium // Powder in 2 Medium // Brow pencil in Taupe // Brow gel in Clear // Eyeliner in Underground // Eyeshadow in GD803 Techno Gold // Eyeshadow in 816 Rouge Gorge // Mascara in Glossy Black // Blush in Coral Alize // Highlighter in Champagne // Lipstick in Little Liar // Lip balm
Just like the ad for the new fragrance she is promoting, Rihanna channelled the '80s—and I'm into it. I love her hair piled up on top of her head in a big mass of curls, and her makeup is much subtler than usual. She looks fresh and pretty in pink lids, black liner, defined lashes and sheer pink lips.
Katy looks almost the same as last week in loose, Ombré waves, fresh skin and a wine-coloured lipstick. The difference this time is that lip is much more intense, and shinier; the edges are a bit harsh, so I think I'd prefer a softer circumference. Also, she added false lashes, and you know how I feel about those. Overall, still very pretty, though!
We haven't seen Julianne in a while, not since the Oscars. I want to dislike this, because her hair is very blonde, her skin is very tan, and the blush is very bold (not to mention her brows and lashes). But you know what? There's still something about her that looks so healthy and radiant. I'd love to see her with less makeup... and maybe tidier brows.
Speaking of celebs we haven't seen in ages, it's been even longer with AnnaLynne... can you believe 2011? I think her beauty choices here are just right: silky straightened hair, nude gloss and shimmering grey shadow that shows off her large lid space. The lashes aren't too heavy, either; I'm impressed!
Not the best lighting here for Hailee, but I'm loving what her hair is doing. I know I keep repeating myself, but this is truly the hair of the moment: fluffy, air-dried texture with a gorgeous swoop of volume on top. Same with her lips—they're matte but soft, with no visible "product" or liner.
It's Emily's first red carpet appearance on the blog, and I hope we get to see more of her—she has such gorgeous skin and eyes. I think the bolder pink blush works in this instance, and I also like her smoky eyes with the emphasis on the lower lash lines. However, I think she could up her brow-filling game (too dark and too rounded).
Isn't it reassuring to know that Victoria's Secret models get spots, too? Even still, Alessandra looks stunning in a simple updo and '60s-inspired makeup: winged liner and pale peach lipstick. I like that she leaves her brows alone, and never ever looks overdone.
Word on the street is that Odessa is a rising star—and you can totally see why. Her skin is a dream, and she must already be working with a really good beauty team, because her makeup is perfectly seamless. (No tacky false lashes here, folks!) I also love her hair colour and the girlish headband, made grown up with big hoop earrings.
The lighting is shadowy and unforgiving, but Hilary still manages to look model-glam in this tight updo. Her makeup is all about strong brows (aren't hers perfect?!) and smoked-out eyes, with gold highlights at the inner corners. Lips are matted out to almost match her skin.
Alice is totally growing on me. I quite like her signature wind-swept blonde hair, with pale makeup that emphasizes her eyes. While she also did these chunky lashes last time, here she also added broad strokes of purple all the way around her eyes. Without blush, the effect is surprisingly cool and modern.
Jacquie may still have a bit of a baby face (she's only 18), but her hair is all grown-up glamour. Not sure if it's helped by extensions, but the colour is incredible—I always enjoy seeing brunette highlights done right. Her coral-pink lips, dewy skin and natural brows are nice, too.
