Q: I've been dyeing my hair for 10+ years now, going from dark to platinum, red and every other colour in between.

Priscilla has tried almost every hair colour, from brunette to platinum blonde.

Over the last two years, I've worked extremely hard to obtain the perfect blonde for my wedding day.

Two weeks after my wedding, I was bored and decided to go red. It was short-lived and I proceeded to strip my hair back to blonde.

Then, I had a brilliant idea to go to white. It was a terrible colour on me, and the stylist used 40 volume on my hair, damaging it worse then ever before. It lasted two days, and now I have a level 6 Ombré down to the blonde. The colour is much better, and once my roots grow out, I will continue the Ombré to my natural colour (level 4) so I don't have to dye my hair anymore.

I have some breakage on the top of my head that is an inch long. I don't want to lose length if I don't have to, but I have no idea what will suit me for a shorter cut that can get rid of these ends. I want to grow my hair out again, so if I need to lose length to do so then I am okay with that. The bottom half of my hair isn't in that bad of condition, thankfully. Let me know what you think. Thank you! — Priscilla

Priscilla now has inch-long breakage from colour damage.

A: Priscilla,

I'm glad you are having fun with the colour and are now taking a different direction—because your hair needed a break!

I like the bangs on you. They just need to be a little shorter—but not much:

Longer bangs are sexier than shorter ones.

For the rest of your hair, I would give it a nice shag:

Shags are really in for fall! This will suit your face and make you look playful.

It will also give you texture and flexibility in your look, and would help you grow out your hair, especially since you're going to have some natural colour coming in.

You didn't ask about colour, but you would suit a gold tone with with some SOFT cinnamon lowlights going through.

I would also moisturize very well with regular hair masks.
